2/10 Poor
Aug 7, 2024
The property was largely unlike the listing. Rooms and hallways smelled overwhelmingly like cigarette smoke and the air purifier in the room smelled heavily of mildew, making the room smell even worse after turning it on. The strength of both smells was enough to give our group headaches. The headrests of the beds were made of velvet, so you could clearly see the handprints and dragged-down finger lines left by the previous occupants of the room. The remaining evidence of previous occupants' adult activities made us feel like we couldn't touch anything without disinfecting it. The walls were covered in scuff marks and had areas of peeling, and the magazines provided by the hotel contained adult content. Additionally, the area that the hotel is in is very inconveniently located and surrounded by auto shops and industrial workshops, many of which can get very loud. Our view out the window was a recycling plant of some kind, with a large pile of scrap metal and a crane that kicked up dust. Front desk staff was unhelpful and told us that all the rooms were the same when we asked for one that didn't smell like smoke, but the janitorial staff were very kind when we asked for toilet paper as it didn't come with the room. Overall, the vibe of the hotel felt like a rushed refurb with fixtures that are nice on paper (the rooms for some reason came with two PC's) but, in practice, were ill-maintained. Our party refused to stay the night and found accommodations elsewhere.
