The standard menu was limited with no salad or fish choice and to order off the general menu we had to pay the full price with no allowance for being half board. It had a very cool bar and vibe in the evening. Breakfast wasn't great but still worth the price. There is a bus stop across from the garage to take you to the Funicular if you're headed to the slopes. Rooms were comfortable. We ran out of hot water in the morning. It's within walking distance to the train station/funicular - something like a 15 min walk. We had a challenge getting a taxi from the train station to the hotel at 9:30pm on a Friday. No ubers and no taxis at the stand but we did find someone eventually.

This was an unbelievably nice property, given the rather modest pictures on the website and the very competitive price (albeit in a "shoulder season" period). The staff greeted us warmly and made sure we knew our way around. We "signed up" for breakfast the next day based on their description of the offerings. Turns out that there were only several other people staying at the Lodge that evening. So, we were greeted the next morning with a "petite breakfast buffet' set up at our own table "reserved" for us. And, they had about everything you can think of (hot and cold) at our table. We were treated like royalty! The only problem was that we ate WAY too much! In any case, Hotel Camp Base Lodge was the highlight thus far of our 3 weeks in France!
