Any other accomondation than that. Provided check in codes by room did not work, neither a toilet in room, or a washbasin. Community facility available by genders, anything than clean, scared to use the showers in there and happily used the sanitary facilities provided by restaurants nearby. Maybe suitable for backpacking vacation. we stayed there two nights and where more than happy to leave. Better spend more money and have something decent. not worth the money we paid at all. Walls not thick to neighbour rooms, so all in all pretty noisy, matresses worn

Don’t stay here
Sooo bad, room boiling, I was top bunk and the bunks are very flimsy, also the light was right above my bed so got flash banged awake every time someone came in the room, showers are tiny and gross, kitchen is dirty and small. Don’t usually give bad reviews but omg

You get what you pay for. Though I have been to hostel in Canada, where staff work to keep place clean and we had a lot more space and facilities.

Of the hostels I've stayed at, very middle of the road. Not terrible, not great. Gets the job done and is in a good location. Missing some easy fixes like having a window shade on the window right next to the bed I was on for a few nights. Holes in the drywall patched unevenly and not painted, could use more silverware options, & pots/pans were pretty raggedy and should likely be switched out for food safety reasons. The staff does come around quite often to change sheets & wash towels, but also kind of got attitude from one of them for asking pretty simple questions. While it does get loud sometimes because of the bar right underneath it, they are very upfront about that in the description so it's not something you can knock them for.

You can't ask for a better location than The Canmore Hotel Hostel (or Canmore Party Hostel depending on which site you're booking it through). It's a decent hostel, seems to have a lot of permanent residents though, but that came in handy when the room code didn't work as one of them was able to summon a staff member by text who arrived less than a minute later informed me my room had been changed and there were new codes. So after you book this place you are sent a front door code and room and bed (with door code). There are no staff in the hostel. I guess they turn up to clean it after checkout time. Bathroom was pretty messy as was the kitchen. There's plenty of options to eat close by (expensive) and cheaper ones once you walk a few blocks away. Lots of supermarkets to choose from, I got a roast chicken in one. The street out of town where Flix Bus drops you off is lined with American/Canadian fast food franchises (Flix drops you off at Tim Hortons/Wendys) which is about a twenty minute walk away from the hostel. Easy walk though, no hills. I thought the bar downstairs would be annoying noise wise but it was actually quite pleasant to hear the karaoke, I sat in the entrance room at the bottom of the stairs on the computer and enjoyed it. The only noise that is an issue is the door code pad, every time someone enters the correct number it does a celebratory tune, which is very annoying in the early morning with people getting up to use the bathroom or whatever.
