Nice hotel, pet-friendly, good breakfast included. Very close to Norquay ski area.
I was absolutely happy with the hotel itself. Friendly staff, easy check in and check out, the room was clean and nice. One thing which disappointed me, our room #102 was located in front of the elevator on the first floor. And in the morning started from 6 am there were lots of sounds, which woke us up every 10-15 minutes cause people were walking and talking, kids playing and screaming etc. I booked a pet-friendly room, and I assume all pet-friendly rooms are located on the first floor. But staff could offer a different room on the other side, the hotel wasn’t super crowded. Recommended but don’t take rooms beside the elevator, they are super noisy.
Small room, not super comfy but ok. The room was really hot so we could hardly find sleep. Food was ok and included in the price which is a good plus though. A 9,45$ charge was applied to my credit card to my surprise when I checked out, I had to call the hotel to learn that it was the cost for parking. Just weird that they didn’t mention the parking wasn’t free before showing up or even when I checked in at the hotel. I would not return to this hotel. There are nicer ones in the area.
Hotel provided nice budget-value option to stay in Banff. Surprisingly good breakfast, comfy room. Paid $9 per night indoor parking fee.
Friendly staff, cool courtyard / hot tub/fire pit area. They have a bar in the hotel that serves drinks. The breakfast is great. Funny enough, the only photo I have is of the parkade and the breakfast but the photos on the hotel.com website are accurate. When I recommend to friends they all say they agree it is so cool. Oh! And in the summer they have cruisers but this week they had a bunch of new fat bikes!
Had never stayed in a Canalta hotel and the front desk manager was very friendly and very helpful. Given Covid I stayed in and cooked a meal and found the kitchen great for a 1 night stay. Thanks
Overall the stay went well, it was quiet and the room was nice and the bed was comfy. However it was pretty cold in the room even when we adjusted the heat. I also didn’t really like paying for parking, then once you get in The parkade seeing how some people parked almost taking up 2 spots was annoying because it’s pretty limited down there and oddly shaped. We also had to sign a waiver in order to have a pet friendly room which I’ve never had to do before. There was a breakfast buffet included with our room but we were afraid to go because we weren’t supposed to leave our dog alone in the room.
Gorgeous lodge on the main street in Banff, about 10 min walk to the heart of downtown Banff. Rooms are spacious and well decorated with modern fixtures and local style. Three hot tubs open til 11pm at night. Some suites have kitchens and balconies. Bathroom and bed were fantastic. Heated underground parking available for 9$ a day, ski lockers available too. Free breakfast and coffee. Free outdoor grill for guests to use, firepit, swing chairs, fireplace in lobby. Great staff.
Everything from check in to check out was great. We especially appreciated how friendly and helpful the maintenance staff were. They were always going out of their way to say hello or ask if you needed anything and just doing the extra little things that you don't normally get in a Canadian hotel.
Great stay and we’ll maintained. I didn’t enjoy eating breakfast with everyone’s pets in the morning, that’s partially my fault for not researching that this was a pet friendly property. Some of the amenities were closed due to Covid, but the hot tubs and breakfast were open, which were both great!
