I stayed here on a business trip. The room was very basic and small. But then again i did book the smallest and cheapest room so it's to be expected. The bathroom was particularly small and a plus size person may find it uncomfortable. The decor in the room was interesting to say the least and felt tired but i think that's in keeping with the theme of the pub which has a very old feel to it which is charming and homey. The pub was busy and bustling every night even midweek. Make sure you book a dinner reservation ahead of time as it does get busy. The food at dinner was exceptional. Elevated pub grub with proper portions. Much higher quality than i was expecting, it's a testament to how busy it gets. The hotel side is a 3 star but the pub brings it up to 4 for me. It's just so cosy, the food at dinner was great and the staff were lovely.

Beware ratings
Not really a hotel as we know. It was a pub with rooms. Where the star rating comes from is worth investigating. Shower was at least good. Breakfast is a strict 7-9am. Served in the pub area I was too late at 8.45am as the breakfast is cooked fresh. As the menu is continental with a choice of: beans on toast, scrambeled egg on toast, bacon sandwich ... The cooking methods? The next morning I went at 7.30, to be greeted by mind the vaccum clean lead and squirts of spray cleaner for another to polish tables. Until we know this is a pub, with rooms, when the whole thing makes sense. It is not a hotel. Cute dogs though. Didn't bother with a photo, it's a pub.

Nothing too much trouble
I don’t leave many reviews but my stay at the Mews Hotel stood out so I felt compelled. As ever it is people that often make the difference and the team at the Mews were amazing. So friendly and genuinely care about customer’s experience and feel a part of their business success. Hospitality isn’t easy but this team stood out, thank you George, Ali, Abi, Will. For example the room included continental breakfast but they asked me if I would like sausage, bacon and eggs which I fuel accepted. All local and perfect after a party the night before!

Highly recommended
Very busy pub on a Friday evening. Staff were helpful and ensured we had a table for dinner - some people were turned away. Quiet location, comfortable and nicely decorated rooms.

Great food.
Had to settle for a single room as the hotel was busy. It’s an experience sleeping in a single bed. Room very small. Food is amazing in the restaurant.
