Due to another occupant, the hotel had to evacuate at 6 am in Michigan winter. When I asked if we would be discounted for being forced awake due to someone else’s stupidity, I was told they were offering points, and even if they were offering money, they wouldn’t be able to refund me because I booked through hotels.com. Although my 2 year old enjoyed seeing a fire truck early in the morning, I did not, and I am not happy with the solution that was offered.

When they say breakfast goes until a certain time, they should make sure they have enough food to serve until then. We went down a half hour before it closed and they were out of eggs, sausages and waffles. And probably more. We had planned on getting on the road home, but we had to stop and take the time and spend extra money for breakfast.
