Y'all have a roach problem and just a sheet on the bed with no comforter. If the owner isn't cheap the furniture needs to be upgraded as well. Those couches sit way to low to the ground. It's not as nice as it use to be in the early 2000s, but what is.

Overbooked! They should know the number of rooms.
We booked a 2 bedroom suite here 6 weeks in advance and paid in full with reservation. My husband & I were driving 4 hours from the north, my mom & brother was driving in 4 hours from the southwest. The hotel attempted to call at 8 pm the night before our scheduled arrival day. We were already in bed, so we found out on the way to Memphis that they had overbooked and our reservation had been cancelled. This left us scrambling for similar accommodations which there were none. We ended up in 2 separate extended stay rooms, it was very difficult to prepare our meals and visit the way we planned. Hotels.com did their best to make it right, there was just no other availability for what we needed.

It was roach infested. Roaches everywhere. My daughters and granddaughter decided to do a six hour drive at night instead of stay after paying for their room. A tall skinny guy walked in their room and said "oh someone is already in here " WTH. Every time we walked out of our room you could smell skunk weed (pot). I'm having to leave all our stuff outside and cleaning everything before I can take it in our house and hope and pray we don't bring roaches in the house. Ridiculous

The room (which had a kitchenette) was very spacious. At first glance, it seemed like a lovely place. Then, with more inspection, it turned out that it wasn't so lovely. The were numerous outlets but a few of them were not working. The chairs at the kitchenette counter were too short for the counter. One of the towel racks in the bathroom (the one by the wash basin) was broken. Overall, the place didn't seem well-maintained. However, the staff was efficient, friendly, and helpful, both at check-in and check-out. For the price we paid, it was reasonable accommodation. Nothing to do with the hotel but the Starbucks across the street was a big plus.

Utterly filthy hotel
This hotel was FILTHY. The building stinks of cigarettes, there was a dead roach stuck to the couch, all the floors had ground-in food and sticky stains, there were dumpsters and laundry carts of trash overflowing everywhere, people piled their trash in the hallway in the mornings, streaks of spilled liquids were on the cabinets and walls. There was staff to be found at any time except one badly overworked security person. Late night noise in the halls included shouting and laughing. The rooms were barely stocked: in a room meant for 4, we had 1 set of sheets, 2 pillows, 1 glass, 1 set of silverware, and 2 towels. The foldout mattress (under the dead roach) was covered in pink and yellow stains. Yellow nicotine stains dripped from the ceiling when the bathroom got steamy. The shower wouldn't drain. There was no soap in the dispensers. It honestly could not have been worse unless we were actively robbed in our rooms. This hotel does not live up to the Sonesta chain standard and has changed my opinion of the chain drastically. Despite being in a relatively good neighborhood and the price, it's a low class and filthy establishment.

BOUGHT CLEANING SUPPLIES FOR FILTHY ROOM
My first time in Memphis upon entering the hotel it stinked right away not very welcoming. Once we got our room couldn't get the door open after finally entering immediately noticed how disgusting and nasty the room was, I have never in my life paid for a room to be filthy. I had to go to Walgreens and buy bleach and disinfectant. I have never went on Vacation and had to spend $50 in cleaning supplies and still be uncomfortable in a hotel and not be able to sleep. How do you charge $650 for a dirty room? Stains all over the walls and sheets, mildew, bugs and mold in the bathroom. Random unknown smells in the cabinet the floor remained sticky after I cleaned it. This company ought to be ashamed renting rooms like this, it's unacceptable. I didn't pay $650 for my family for a disgusting room. We had to book another hotel at the last minute and pay more money on top of what was already spent. I don't know what type of business this, this is not up to standards and not okay. ( the app is not letting me add my photos)

Dissatisfied
I did not get to stay here because the hotel was sold out when I booked them on hotels.com 18 days prior to my stay, but the hotel never called me. I called the hotel on the day of my stay and was advised that they did not have a room for me and was not providing me with an alternative hotel to stay in. The agent even advised me that they knew this 18 days ago and she thought someone contacted me. I have no record of them calling me. It cost double for me to get a hotel room last minute. I am so disappointed that management did not handle this prior to my stay.

Terrible Experience
When we arrived at the hotel at 4:30 in the afternoon, we were told there wasn’t a room for us.The person at the desk advised us that since they are an extended stay property, when people were supposed to check out they extended their stay so no rooms were available and since the room was booked through a 3rd party (Hotels.com) they hadn’t charged us even though we paid for the room in advance to Hotel.com. I contacted Hotel.com by chat (they WILL NOT speak with you by phone even though I asked several times) to get assistance. They ask if I wanted a reservation at another hotel and provided another hotel. After being burned on one hotel, I called that hotel and they didn’t have any rooms available. After driving 7 hours and not having a hotel room, we slept on our daughter’s sofas for the night until we could get a room for the following night (not through Hotels.com). All Hotels.com offered was a refund and $25 credit. I told them to refund me and keep the credit because I would not be using them again. I’ve had an account with them for approximately 8 years and the service with them has declined in the last two years since they merged. Never again.

When we arrived for check-in after a 10 hour car ride, our loft room was already occupied. We're not sure if they were authorized there or not. When we returned to the desk we were informed that they had no other rooms available and we would have to be refunded the whole 4 nights booking. This left us in a very tough and uncomfortable position in a strange town with no where to stay. The CS that we have heard from blamed us, saying we declined an alternate room. No such offer was ever made. I have pictures too. Embarrassing look for Sonesta and we will never pay for a room with them again.

First floor smelled like weed. I called ahead to notify them that I would be checking in late at night. They thanked me for letting them know, but didn't tell me the desk closes at 10pm, so I had to find another hotel down the street for a night. No one at the desk at 10:30am to check me out- I had to go find the housekeeping office and ask for help. The room: dirty/stained carpet, bugs (ants, cockroaches, and other), mildewy/wet spots on carpet. Loud people in the room next door. I definitely won't stay at this location again, and I'm reluctant to stay in any Sonesta again.

6/10 Good

Average at best
If you are like me and just need a bed and bathroom, this place is fine. If you're looking for high quality, I would not suggest it. The employees were all nice and the room ended up being good enough for my simple standards, but the biggest issues I encountered were as follows: 1) Outside door frame/lock had clearly been tampered with, as if someone had tried to break in at some point prior. This made the door hard to lock correctly unless I slammed the door really hard, which left me uneasy at night by myself. 2) When I first arrived, one of the main lights was blinking on and off and one was out completely. It was fixed immediately by maintenance, but neither being noticed before I got there seemed odd. 3) I needed to do work from the room, but there was really no good place to do it. The bar counter would have been fine, but there were no bar stools, only dining room height chairs, which meant only my head fit over the bar top, and I would've had to have my elbows up to my ears to use my laptop. I'm 5'3", so maybe someone well over 6 feet could work in this location, but I assume most would be very uncomfortable. A small desk area would've be preferred. 4) The kitchen area had the most hodge podge mix of kitchen utensils I have ever seen. Two plates, one glass, one fork, two regular spoons, one large serving spoon, and one butter knife. Everything was in the dishwasher, but didn't look fully clean, and there was no detergent or dishwashing soap in the room. :(
