An excellent stay at the Thames Head Inn!
I stayed in one of the four rooms at the back of the pub. Nice rural location with plenty of parking. Room was clean and comfortable, but the best aspect of the stay was the friendly staff and excellent food. Portions good, and the pub has a great atmosphere. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and good quality. Would definitely stay again

The room looked lovely to walk into. We were only staying for 2 nights but the first morning our room was re stocked and the bed made as it was when we arrived.

6/10 Good

We arrived about 4.30pm on a Friday in early October; a large car park with plenty of spaces free of charge. The staff check us in for friendly. Overall is a fair stay, I did feel cold throughout the night as believe the rooms were previously a barn conversion and heating was turned off until in the morning with the auto set up time. The shower over the bath was ok but could do a holder for the shower head as could not do anything unless put down the shower head and the tap water is not clear as that’s probably due to the pipes - maybe host can introduce something to prevent the lime scale coming through the taps? The room smelt clean- nice set up making your own hot drinks - I was glad there was a bottle of water to use as would not be happy if I had to use the tap water ( as mentioned above !) overall just a bit dated in areas requires repainting but otherwise is an okay average stay with my youth daughter in a double bed room with the bathroom for a night.

Reasonably priced, very pleasant accommodation
Thames Head is a characterful and welcoming place to stay. Our room was warm, clean, peaceful and comfortable. The food is unpretentious, but well-cooked very generously portioned. The pub is close to Kemble station, and it is only 10 mins drive from the splendid town of Cirencester. The shower-in-the-bath might be a bit tricky for the elderly or less agile, but it is very clean. An extra socket or two for phone-re-charging might be a good idea, but overall it’s a good choice for a stay.

Highly Recommended
We had a fantastic 3 night stay here for a family wedding which was in nearby location. Our room was spotlessly clean and well appointed with a huge walk in wardrobe and a decent supply of hangers. We had dinner on 2 nights and the food was of excellent quality and very generous portions with a great choice. I particularly enjoyed the fish pie and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the steak and kidney pie. Breakfast was equally tasty, thick cut bacon, well packed sausages, juicy tomatoes and flavoursome mushrooms. Very good coffee too in the restaurant and our room. The staff were all so helpful and pleasant nothing was ever too much bother for them, they were always happy to help. Particular thanks to Nicola, Ben and Emily who helped organise transport for us. Forgot to take photos of our delicious food but took outside of the 4 rooms they have where we sat in the sunshine. Also loved seeing chef nip outside to pick some rosemary from the giant bushes outside. Great outside seating area too for pub guests and heaters outside for when evenings cool down. Perfect location for visiting Cirencester or starting the Thames walk as the head of the Thames is a short walk from the hotel. We enjoyed meeting an Australian lady and a Californian man who were starting the walk from here.

Property easy to find. Room in an out building. Clean & tidy. Bed very comfortable & facilities within the room in good order. Quiet. Staff had left message on phone regarding an evening meal - very considerate. All on the level but had to walk to main building for breakfast. Breakfast was a cooked one - cooked to order. No cereal provided. Ideal stay for me on my journey to Essex.
