Fleet Science Center

The Fleet Science Center features over 100 hands-on exhibits and an IMAX theater highlighting intriguing science topics. You can enjoy the digital planetarium or science themed movie on the 76’ wrap-around IMAX screen with state of the art surround sound.

The center also hosts in-house events such as the Fleet Night of Science, Young Scientists, or Exploring Ethics, as well as events around the community like Two Scientists Walk Into a Bar. The North Star Science Store is a great place to shop for souvenirs and educational gifts including books, games, toys, and much more.

Highlights of Fleet Science Center

The Fleet Science Center offers several permanent exhibitions in addition to IMAX movies and rotating exhibits. Young visitors will love Kid City, where they can shop in a miniature grocery store, play at the ball wall, block corner, magnetic wall, or play math and reading games in the Little Learner’s Lab.

In Sun, Earth, Universe, you can design a model spacecraft, play a board game like ‘Your Mission to Space’ or drive rovers across a table displaying the landscape of Mars, and many more NASA-inspired activities. Other exhibits include Illusions, Power Play San Diego, San Diego’s Water, Pulseworks VR Transporter, So Watt!, Studio X, and Space Gallery.

Good to know about Fleet Science Center

You will find the Fleet Science Center near the San Diego Zoo on El Prado in Balboa Park. The science center offers discounts to active military along with their families, registered educators, and senior citizens. Craveology offers light bites and delicious treats.

While you are in Balboa Park, you will find an extensive selection of museums and attractions to check out.
