This was my last stay at a Hyatt property.
Check in was a terrible process. We were told we were "upgraded" to a residence suite which we did not ask for. When we informed them we wanted to stay in the resort with Oceanview as we booked we were informed that the room was not available (even though we came in the evening). The resident room required a shuttle to get to and from the resort, was outdated and smelled like cigarette smoke concealed by perfume.
We were then moved back to the resort to a room that wasn't Oceanview as we had booked. This whole debacle took hours.
We were then told they could give us a better room the next day but by that time we were unpacked and didn't want to deal with the hassle of going to a third room.
All we got was meaningless apologies. No one ever offered to even refund us the difference between what we paid for and what we were offered. The burden then fell on us to re-pack and move from room to room as it suited them.
As I checked out they actually had the nerve to ask if I would like to become a Hyatt member...
