The photos make the New Inn look very attractive, in a quirky, Olde Worlde way.
Don't be taken in. Best advice: avoid.
No hot water, no plug for the sink, showers barely worked. When it did, water temperature went from scalding hot to freezing cold. Nothing in between, except for a second or so during transition.
This was in room 114. They gave mea key to 102, to have a shower. It was a way awaw but just the same.
I arrived too late to eat the evening before. The bar there was completely empty so I went down the road to where I'd heard music. Returned around 10.45: the bar was shut. Despite advertised as being open till 11.00 & I being resident.
Apologies the following day and was offered a complimentary breakfast. By the time I was showered and dressed, the offer had been withdrawn.
The place is in the city centre and is walking distance to the resin station. It coukd be great. Its management has chosen not to be.
In the pub down the road, when I said where I was staying, there were knowing looks, mods and smiles. They agreed the rooms were competitively priced but said there was a reason why. They were right.
