Lovely but could do with a little TLC
Hotel is lovely, but the room (mainly bathroom) was old and tired. I landed up in the disabled room which all the rail, shower seat etc were all rusty and could have done with replacing. Otherwise lovely hotel, pub and restaurant. Will stay there again

Disappointing
The staff were great, but the room was not. The heating was stuck at the hottest setting with the thermostat broken off the radiator. I rang for help and the staff member managed to turn it down slightly. The window was painted shut so no fresh air to cool the room. The hotel was fully booked so I couldn't move rooms. I then discovered in the morning that the shower was not working, barely a dribble. The staff member said i would be reimbursed for my poor stay, but have heard nothing back yet. I wouldn't stay again.

8/10 Very Good

Chaotic breakfast
In general we had a good stay, but breakfast was a bit chaotic. At 9:30 on Sunday morning the dining area was very busy. We did have a choice of tables, but most had not been cleared. It became evident that there was only one waitress in attendance and she was in great demand and rushed off her feet. In her haste to clear the table and reset it she forgot about the "tea or coffee?" question. We actually witnessed 4 members of staff - a male visited briefly from downstairs, a female visited from the kitchen to bring clean cutlery to the main area and a third appeared occasionally - she started cleaning the table next to us after we arrived, stopped halfway though leaving the cleaning spray on the table and returned about 30 minutes later to finish the job! I hope the young waitress who served us gets a pay rise - or a medal at least!

8/10 Very Good

Friendly staff, easy check in, car park full so parking not great, absolutely massive room looks nice at a distance, but the closer you get the signs of tiredness are clear, black marks all around bathroom, loose floor tiles etc, bed is amazingly large but mattress is so uncomfortable, all of which is a shame as the room could be 5 star 🌟 If all the issues where sorted I’d happily pay £140 per night which is more than they currently charge.

2/10 Poor

Very run down, poor hygiene, bad value for money
I stayed here for one night in August in a single room. The staff were very friendly, and the hotel itself is in a great location in the town centre. However, the hotel was very run down and not particularly clean. My room was located in the main building, right next to the gents' toilets of the pub, which is already not a pleasant start. The room was very small and very dated - with thick old carpet on the floor which is inherently unhygienic, and very cramped bathroom (so small that the fresh towels were placed on top of the toilet). The room was on a main corridor with very creaky floorboards, meaning there was constant noise in the evening and early morning from people walking through the corridor. Breakfast was included in my booking, however I would have opted out of this given the chance - the food quality and service was below average for the price of the room. Overall, very run down hotel in dire need of a refurb, and very questionable from a hygiene point of view (I also observed in the bar area one of the bar staff stroking a dog and then continuing with their duties without washing their hands). Regrettably, it's highly unlikely I will stay here again.

6/10 Good

Nice hotel to stay in. However, the church across the road rings its bells every 15 minutes all through the night. The windows are single pane so very noisy especillaly combined with the traffic. Probably would not stay again on that basis.

6/10 Good

Disappointed 😟
I cannot begin to describe my feelings as I opened the door to our £183 a night room! A tired, bland and decidedly disappointing room! The sleeping experience was lessened by a very well worn mattress and a heavy “winter” duvet on a warm summer’s night! The check-in & out was largely functional with no real sense of occasion, considering the £183! We also see at the restaurant where the food and service can best be described as ok… later on that evening the Bar service was decidedly dismal as we waited for Malibu, Ice and then no Cheese & Onion crisps! All in all Market Harborough appeared to be a lovely town but if we return we’ll be finding alternative accommodation 😟.
