Surprised they were unable to help recharging a phone - there were no USB plugs in the room. A nearby restaurant was more than happy to recharge by connecting to their computer.

Great location
The hotel was in a lovely location, the room was nice and quiet and overlooked the small harbour. The staff and the food were very good and overall it’s a great little hotel and I would definitely stay again. That said I think there should probably be a refund available if you are subject to weather delays on the ferry/airlines as our inbound and outbound trip was delayed by a day at both ends so we lost a nights accommodation and then felt we had to find alternative accommodation for the extra night which was a shame. That said it’s a lovely little hotel in a great spot and well worth a stay.

Lovely spacious room over the harbour, regular public transport running till late at night, and running form early morning,a few local shops to buy basic needs. Only stayed four nights bed and breakfast But staff were very helpful pleasent and professional didn't spend much time in the hotel as we had family camping on the island would have liked to have spent an evening there relaxing in the bar and restaurant will be returning and would recommend this hotel

6/10 Good

The rooms, as stated, are very dated and extremely noisy. The noise heard from our room was from the kitchen and our friends noisy room was from neighbouring room. The food in the restaurant is excellent, but expensive, the restaurant staff as well as cleaners were very friendly. The hotel reception staff are very unhelpful. Expedia state to vacate the room by noon the hotel did not accept this, even with proof, you have to vacate by 10.30 am. The location of the hotel is good, food excellent but I would not recommend staying here longer than a few days.

Amazing staff, very accommodating! Definitely recommend you pay the extra I think it’s like just a few dollars to get breakfast and dinner included, absolutely amazing chef! Right behind it is a 13 century castle absolutely gorgeous best hotel to stay in the area definitely! Popular drinking pub at night.

Perfect place for a relaxing escape
A clean, friendly and comfortable hotel in a beautiful setting. Delicious, generous breakfast with plenty of choice. Excellent restaurant with proper service. Lots of interest right on the doorstep including the amazing castle and hotel is a stone's throw from the bus stop which gives you access to the whole island. Pub next door is a good place for a relaxed sundowner after a coastal hike or a day out.

Good service and location, pricey
We stayed for three nights in February and initial impressions were good, once we'd found a parking space! Downsides of the hotel: Our room was a superior room but the furniture was dated and the hall/stairs area could do with a spruce up too. Parking can be problematic and may require a reasonable walk Soundproofing between rooms is not good In hindsight I'd say our room was expensive considering what we got for the money Positives: Breakfast was good with nicely cooked food and decent portions Staff in the restaurant were very friendly and efficient Everything was very clean Wifi was quick and reliable Fantastic location on Gorey harbour Local restaurants are expensive so the half board option is a wise choice

Location was excellent. Live music on Friday & Saturday night, Karaoke on Sunday night & general streamed music on other nights. Don’t expect music to finish before 10.30/11pm! Could hear someone snoring every night in the next room, walls thin! Bath towels were very small. Furniture in rooms looking a bit tired. Parking was good although think you might struggle in high season. Great breakfast, ate once in the evening & food was good. Would stay again but maybe ask for a top floor room.

The Dolphin Hotel is an amazing located hotel with views over the harbor and and the castle behind the hotel. Great location to tour the island, great places to eat within walking distance of the hotel. Cooked breakfast wasn't to our satisfaction but did have cereal and toast every morning. We had a wonderful holiday weather was perfect. Be aware that the Hotel is very popular with the locals so can get quiet noisy of an evening and weekend but friendly.

Good hotel
A pleasant place to stay. Staff friendly and helpful. Recommend half board as the meals were good value. Had a fabulous view of the harbour although it’s a bit noisy from the bar below in the evening, however this never went on past 12. Would definitely come back.
