The staff was accommodating, helpful and friendly. The room was equipped with essentials and when i faced technical problems with the room i was upgraded to a different room. However, when i checked out i was accused unequivocally of smoking inside the room and I had to deal with that inconvenience until proven not guilty. That was annoyind and i did not appreciate it.

A bit hit and a bit miss
Strange layout of hotel, lift from the pavement outside takes you to an outside first floor, walk around the corner to the door of the hotel. Check in was easy, the room ok, tv did not work properly it hummed so loudly that you had to put the volume so high to hear it, so we didn’t put it on, we didn’t want to disturb the neighbours. reported it but nothing done, we were there three nights, to watch the news would have been good. Also no telephone in the room , mentioned it, but nothing done. Room service was ok , a bit hit and miss sometimes , no loo roll, no towels, but I guess it is a teaching hotel , so it’s going to be like that sometimes. Breakfast also was nice, but limited, one morning there was fruit and yogurt the next none , scrambled or boiled egg. Of course toast and cereal. What we had was nice and well made, and we did not wait long. Front of house was very good very polite.

Give it a miss unless you are very easy going.
The hotel has a good location close to the beech, but requires a 5 minute walk to the tram to go any further. Den Haag centre is a 15-20 min journey by tram. Room was tired (in need of redecorating) and needed a clean (dust on table and shelves). We had a laugh upon discovering the CRT TV. We haven’t seen one of those 20yrs. The toilet was wedged between the wall and the sink requiring us to sit on it at a 45° angle with one leg touching the toilet roll holder and the other the sink. Showering in the dark was fun as no light! Bulb out in main room and broken coffee machine (both were fixed after we brought it to the attention of reception). Breakfast on day one was great - good service, good selection. Breakfast on day two was a disaster - after 25 minutes I had to go and ask where our basket of bread products were, let alone the other items ordered. Eventually took 45 minutes to have a continental breakfast (almost what we ordered)! We would suggest a buffet style breakfast like other hotels to speed up the process. It was possible to help yourself to juice, coffee and some yoghurt’s however the juice and yogurts were never replenished so unless you got there early you are out of luck and just had to have a hot drink. The worse thing was the bed. The hardest slab we have ever tried to sleep on. It was sloped to one side so we always felt we were about to roll out of bed. Finally, we were given incorrect information about use/location of trams.

Don't be cheated by the photos provided by the hotel. I stayed in a normal double room with very simple decoration only. I should say, a bit ugly. But the room is clean and with all basic facilities. Very nice staff, breakfast is just okay. Unclear indication of where the hotel's car park is.

Staff was wonderful and friendly. Ladies that checked us in seemed eager and happy to be apart of the program they are taking. It was wonderful to learn from them, the concept. Beautifully clean, quiet, and equipped rooms. Breakfast staff could use some improvement, as there was no quality check on food, confusing options and I think our food came out wrong. We received almost a full load of bread and 4 large buns for 2 to share... I don't eat bread, so it was a bit excessive -but if that's the biggest complaint ..

There are students in this hotel.Breakfast was poor with few options and is not buffet. Personal is very kindly. In room there is a bad and old furniture smell and bed was not confortable. Bathroom door creaky. I waited a long time, more than 30min, next morning for the students to generate an invoice at checkout.
