The park and hiking trails and waterfalls are beautiful! The lodge has a gorgeous view of the Cumberland river and nice patio to sit and enjoy it. Our room in the lodge was pretty small but clean and adequate. The bed was very comfortable. The lobby, great room and restaurant felt like scout camp. Those could be renovated and made more cozy and inviting. Staff friendly and nice.

The rooms are a bit dated and our "river view" wasn't what we were expecting. Typically when we've booked river view rooms the river was the main view. This room gave us a view of lots of trees and the river in the distance. It was very convenient to be able to get up early and walk the trail down to the falls.

I booked this stay for one night one my drive back home to see the Falls. It was Very clean. Friendly staff. Great trails. Well marked. It was wonderful having a restaurant on premises. First, no refrigerator in the room. Second, who charges 2.00 a cup for lobby coffee? Room was very small, conditioner dispenser broke off in the shower, and can barely fit on the tiny corner toilet. Food is buffet style, but dry. On a positive note, the lady down in the restaurant was very nice and helpful.
