Hotel in the Pines with Lake View
We arrived around 6:30 pm. The young man in reception worked out our problem of our prior room request being cancelled. We received tips on where to go for local swimming, and made it back for a most delicious dinner. The sleep was very comfortable. Morning dining room gals were gracious and we got coffee to go and hit the road. Would stay here again.
our wing of the hotel was brand-new (& on the first floor--yay, didn't have to carry heavy suitcases up the stairs :)

We had a wonderful and peaceful stay at this place. The location is perfect, situated conveniently between major sites, making it easy to explore the area. The host is great and very friendly, and the staff is lovely and welcoming. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and parking right outside was a plus. While we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, a few additional room comforts would have made it even better. Some hangers or hooks for clothes, as well as a hairdryer and kettle in the room, would be great additions. Overall, we strongly recommend this place to everyone looking for a quiet and comfortable stay with friendly hosts and a great location!

I would stay there again!
Hotel looks like it was refurbished recently with bathrooms added to individual rooms. They are tiny but your own. The rooms are small, but you’re supposed to be outside. The staff was courteous and responsive.

This hotel is a great spot to see the Northern Lights. We were fortunate to see a glimpse of it during our stay. The hotel staff were friendly and the breakfast was good, but could definitely have more options. Overall, clean, quiet and plenty of parking.

The stay overall was as required for a safe & clean night’s stay, however, I would caution that this is for the bare necessities only and no bells & whistles. There is definitely a need for improvement in terms of space (i.e. little to no room for luggage, toiletries in the bathroom, and even using the toilet is quite restricted). From a food perspective, breakfast, unlike all of my other stays in Iceland, is not included in the room costs. It is an additional 2400 ISK (24 CAD) for a cold breakfast, which, upon the opening of the restaurant at 730AM, there were not even any staff to greet or seat guests. We saw several other groups leave because of that, as well. But if you’re just looking for a place to sleep & shower, it is at the very least a step up from a campground.

Nice staff. Hotel is clean, well maintained, with poorly appointed rooms. They are updated, but so small. You get a bed, 2 night tables, and a chair. The bathroom is extremely tight and no place to put anything. We had a fine time.

The staff were all friendly and helpful. We appreciated how easy it was to walk from the hotel to the geothermal baths. The view from the dining window is beautiful.

We got upgraded to the newer part of the hotel and it was fantastic. It was so beautiful. It was clean and beautiful. Check in was a breeze and Philip was amazing. We got the lake view and it was fabulous. No free breakfast or kitchenette for heating up water but it was still amazing.

An ordinary inn
A small inn next to Lake Laugarvatn. The restaurant is on the left and the guest rooms are on the right. You can check in at the front desk to get the room key. There is a lake behind the promotional photo, but in fact, there is still a long distance from this inn to the lake.

Nice and clean hotel. It seems Iceland basically have no bathroom with a usable wash basin. Not sure if they always shower? We struggled where to put our toiletries for 3 people, how to wash the face if not in the shower, all a bit crammed. Curtains could be better to shut the light out.
