The property was a big surprise because it was it a rural, agriculture area. It was an old farm house, converted guest house. The rooms were wonderful as was the open space and the airy dining room. We had dinner cooked by the owner, Claudine, super tasty. The garden very restful with outdoor furniture for relaxing.

Stayed here for convenience close to the airport. Driver was 30 minutes late picking us up at airport. I woke him up when I called him after he did not answer messages. Over charged us in the morning and squeezed us into a car with another couple. We should have shared the cost with other passengers. Driver said no. This was not the communication we had with the hotel. Hotel apologized but never offered compensation or reimbursement for taxi driver over charging us. Driver was rude, and inconsiderate. Had many drivers in Greece in our 18 days of travel. This transfer service was the worst.

Highly recommended close to Athens Airport.
As the property is a 15 min from airport in the country there are no restaurants or markets around so bring some snacks. Coffee and water was available in the room. Don't pay ridiculous elevate airport hotel rates as this property is perfect when you need to catch a flight at thens Airport the next day. Rooms are extremely spacious and bathroom is amazing. Pillow and bed are extremely comfortable. Coordinate with the manager for a taxi pick up/drop off as the property is not easy to find. Highly recommend

Beautiful, welcoming place. Great food and lovely grounds. Excellent communication and friendly staff, plus a silly, wonderful dog on the premises that we enjoyed interacting with. The bed was comfortable, the shower was great, and the room was lovely. The ONLY issue is the noise from the planes overhead. At least in our room, it was very loud (and I was using earplugs). Extra soundproofing would do wonders!

A night at Varaba
Although our stay was very short, we were greeted upon arrival and shown around. We had a beverage on the patio and met some of the other guests. The setting was pastoral and comfortable. Because of an early flight, we missed having breakfast. Overall, it is a great place to stay.

The owners couldn’t do enough to help us. Their communication was amazing and nothing seemed too much bother. Taxis are outside the property or can be booked to come back and collect you later after they've dropped you off. Some of them are related so if one of them can’t come, he’ll send his brother!! As an overnight before a morning flight, this was a gem. Comfortable room, lots of outside space. Several guests ate dinner on the patio. We’d have liked to but my food intolerances make it difficult so we took a taxi to the nearby port and I’m so glad we did as it really felt like we squeezed an extra night out of our vacation. Next time we do Athens/Sifnos, we’ll be sure to stay again.

Wee really enjoyed our overnight stay at Veraba. The room was quiet with a very nice bathroom and a lovely private patio. It really is out in the country so the surroundings were quiet and relaxing. We had requested they prepare dinner for us and they accommodated my being a vegetarian. My husband is not vegetarian and although we had different main courses we both agreed the entire meal was wonderful! Three courses were served on a quiet patio with again a lovely outlook. The food had local ingredients and was as good or better than the meals we had during our 4 week stay in Greece. They also arranged our transfer to and from the airport which made everything much easier. Highly recommended.

I stayed at Varaba for a single night, as I was transiting for work. The house is close to the airport, so convenient to come and go, though far enough away to be surrounded by nature. The area is quiet, though you can occasionally hear planes. The room was fantastic - spacious, clean, with doors to the garden. Very homey atmosphere, and quiet enough to work. Dinner and breakfast were both lovely. I will definitely stay again!

A great little hotel convenient for the airport.
The Varaba Country House is a delightful refuge not far from Athens airport (about 1-15 minutes by taxt for E25. Our room was nicely designed with thoughtful extras like a Nespresso machine. Bathroom fixtures were modern and stylish. We had a very nice dinner (a fixed menu) prepared after our arrival. We only met one staff (the cook) who was very charming and welcoming. A great little hotel.

A little gem
Perfect little pit stop before flying home A chance to soak up the last of the Greek hospitality. We ate a very traditional, ‘tasty’ meal in the evening and a lovely breakfast before setting off. It felt more like staying with friends in their home than a hotel I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants to hold on to their holiday for that little bit longer. Just perfect!!
