Massive spa hotel right by the lake. It has a Chinese feel to it with big heavy seating in the lobby. Very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast served in a magnificent ballroom.

A very great onsen ryokan
The hotel is next to the Abashiri Lake, the view is very great no matter from the room or the banquet room. Staff is very polite and helpful. It is very easy to reach the hotel from the airport as there is an airport limousine line connecting to arriving/departing flights in Memanbetsu airport. There is also bus stop of “Doko Bus” (which is by reservation only) next to the hotel, which travel to the Abashiri downtown and other attractions, but the service is rather limited so I strongly recommend to rent a car or hire a taxi unless time is not your concern. There is nothing around the hotel within walkable distance, which may be a disadvantage, although not concerning me as I come here to relax.

The hotel is on a lake, but there is no seating, walking paths, or other ways to access and enjoy the lake on site. The hotel is older and the wing where we stayed is in need of an upgrade. The hotel hosts hosted multiple large school groups during our stay. Fine for a night if your just looking for a place to stay.

Quiet hotel by the abashiri lake
The lake view was really beautiful. But they Need to be clean more often. The bed was very comfortable. The public bathtub were clean. But we have to keep pushing the handle in order to keep running water.
Tatami was new but carpet was not.
