Sooooo friendly!!!
The new owner is fixing up this very nice lodge and the people are so friendly it immediately feels like home. The food! Outstanding! Careful with the cinnamon buns because you will eat more than one!

The Mountainview Lodge property was beautiful, and the owners were friendly. The cabin rooms were dated but very clean. The property is under new ownership and the new owners are doing a fantastic job so far!

2/10 Poor

Good Luck getting them to come to the door.
Terrible service, drove all the way to lodge, office was closed, vehicles there and would not answer door or respond to vehicle horn. Hotels .com made numerous telephone calls and we did too but they would not answer and vacancy sign, still showed vacancy and then they had the nerve to say we were a no-show.

Staff was warm, and extremely friendly. Amenities were not what we were expecting. Beds were uncomfortable. Bathroom really "worn" looking.

Everything was very clean and our stay could not have been any better. They do have a beautiful location and the view of the mountain is really special. The owners are the nicest folks and did their best to make our stay very comfortable. We highly recommend this lodge!

Rustic, small digs. Too much scenting in the room. The proprietors are lovely 😊. The food choices and quality are in need of improvement.

Beautiful place to get away from all the city noise! We had a nice swim in the River which was a nice relief from the heat of the day. The place is Rustic but acceptable. The young couple running the place are friendly and informative of the area.

after 6 nights in a row in hotels, decided our last night would be a change from the usual. Mountainview lodge was a nice change. on the drive there the winding scenic drive prepared us for a camping like experience. the lodge was surrounded by trees and there was a nice trail down to a beautiful river that could be explored. I think the trash along the trail could be tidied up to help sustain that wilderness vibe. our room fit the log cabin theme. bunk beds were not too comfortable but perfect for kids. a fire ban meant no bon fire which would have been a spectacular bedtime experience. overall an enjoyable stay

What was needed...indeed!!!
I couldn't have been happier in my choice and my wife would say the same. The ability to stay in such a charming "natural" environment made me feel at peace and to say the owners made it great would be a lie...it was way beyond great!!! The food we ate for breakfast (in the restaurant part) was tasty, hot, and fresh. We honestly thought about staying more days then 2, but our bosses would have fired us...but for this paradise...we considered it. :-)

Not worth the money
The room felt like it was for kids. It was tiny. And there was a word art sign on the wall treating guests like you might be an unruly teenager. As I said the room was ridiculously small for two beds. The beds were also old and uncomfortable... however the quilt was beautiful (at least one nice thing) The windows were left open so when we checked in the room was damp and cold. We asked about turning the heat on, they weren't able to turn the heat on. My husband was cold the whole night. There were no cooking facilities at all. No microwave, no little BBQ, So there was really no way to eat anything hot, except at their "restaurant. If you could call it that. The woman at the front desk was ok. However her husbands golf game was more important to her then providing customer service. There were some good points like an in room DVD player and some peace and quite away from the city. But really the property wasn't that nice. Also, my husband and I like dogs, however, if you don't like dogs the check in desk is guarded by not the friendliest dog (belonging to the owners)

pictures misleading
Thought this would be an attractive location that was a bit out of our route. When we got there we quickly realized the pictures were at least 2 years out of date. The large fire pit (at least 8 ft across) was filled with half burned garbage. the bed was queen sized but the room was double sized and the bed was pushed up against the wall. there were a few other things regarding cleanliness that were disappointing. I see it has been given a high rating and cannot quiet see how that is possible.

I would recommend this “Hunt camp” only to people who want to hunt and shot things then stuff them. Not at all what I was looking for. Owner is very kind, but I have yet to see my refund !!!!

Lots of character and friendly owners
Stayed in the caboose and it was the kids' favorite accommodation during the whole trip. Property in the summer is pleasant and quiet, with a nice country feel and lots of little amenities to take advantage of if you have the time (huge bonfire pit, gazebo, lodge with games room + music). Owners were very friendly and personable. If you like something a little off the beaten path with a country-feel, definitely check this place out.
