The property was very run down. The exterior paint was peeling everywhere on the building and the parking lot was littered with hundreds of cigarette butts. The bushes on brush on the back side of the building blocked the view of the lake. I was told our room had a patio with chairs to sit and view the lake, which was untrue. The motel is right next to a very busy highway. The deadbolt lock on our room did not work. We were charged a separate resort fee for amenities like the beach that we did not use due to the cold weather at this time of year. The linens and bath towels were cheap and worn. I would not recommend staying at this property.

The hotel was great, place was clean and it was obvious that they had made many upgrades. New very comfortable beds, new linens, drapes, carp, TV, etc. Beautiful area next to a lake. Dog friendly. Staff was great, prices were reasonable. Restaurant is great, varied menu.

The motel has a lovely view of the lake and that is the only nice thing about the spot.
The rooms are very outdated. Stayed 2 nights at $160 a night. For that cost I would expect one of the renovated rooms. Needed help with the lock and door upon arrival as the door was stuck. Could hear the neighbour guy snoring next door, anyone next to you walks around the floor vibrates. The walls shake whenever someone slams their door. Bright car lights shine into the rooms at 5-6am when all the construction workers are leaving. Carpet is disgusting, bring slippers!!! Beds are old and hard. The shower was yellow and rusty and stained. Dead bugs in the bathroom ceiling and around the light. I will never return to this motel and I would not recommend it to others, which is unfortunate as the lake view is lovely. For $160 a night, there is no reason the rooms should not all be updated by now. It was built in 1964 and has had very little updating since.

I stayed here as a kid under the old owner and loved it. I went back to visit this past summer, it was under new management. The rooms were iffy in terms of cleanliness - no bugs, but definitely looks run down and not thoroughly cleaned (cobwebs in the corner with flies and spider in the web) The towels were ripped and thread bare.
I was traveling with my mom and my kids and the new owner gave my mom a hard time asking for a 3rd towel (there was only 2 in the room) he rudely told her "there's only supposed to be 2 people in one room and that we should have 2 separate rooms and we'd have to pay extra" - which is ridiculous because none of this was mentioned when I booked through Expedia and we are traveling as a family! 2 rooms is ludicrous. The new owner also doesn't serve breakfast anymore in the restaurant. We were told "Go to Tim Hortons", which for small kids and a senior is not an acceptable alternative to a real breakfast - meaning we had to drive (with 2 kids and a pre-diabetic senior) an hour to Sault Ste Marie to eat breakfast.
Oh and at 325am I had someone try to get into my room - they ended up realizing they had the wrong room, but it was terrifying none the less.
Only plus side, nice sunset and the beach/water is still nice.
However, I won't ever be going back.

It was an older but adequate facility. The bathroom still had sink/fixtures from the 1970's but the shower was good. Being right on the beach was excellent; hearing loons right out your window is always a plus! Add to that, you can have a swim after a long day's drive - I would definitely stay there again. The dinner meal was poor; we ordered Indian food and it was sub-standard. No real flavor and virtually no spices. No selection of wine - choose red or white. Restaurant prices were high for the quality of food and service received.

Fantastic motel right on the beautiful lake with chairs and tables outside. The beds were so comfortable and there was an entire big bag of ice in the freezer. It was extremely quiet. The restaurant served many choices of food and was delicious. I highly recommend this beautiful setting. The owner was extremely nice
