Paradise
I love this place. First came in 2015 then booked again in 2017 but due to adverse weather elsewhere in the Philippines we were unable to get there. So now in 2018 we made it. One of the most beautiful places in the country. The hotel is great and the staff superb! Will be going again...best Island hopping every time!

Ok overall. But the wi-fi worked properly for 1/2 hour in 3 days. You hade to wait for all food for at least 45 min in a restaurang hotter than hell. There was no beach near it. 15 minutes walk away it was a boring and dirty beach. And the pool is not an infinitypool and it was pretty dirty. But as i started whit, ok overall.

Room for improvement
Steve and Sarah are a good host and very personable. The place has the right vibe but it would help bring it to the next level by giving some attention to the upkeep of the rooms as in the long run it will cost more to fix by not maintaining them regularly.

Hotel is not as the website depicts it
The hotel is long overdue maintenance and refurbishment. Plumbing is poor, fly screens broken, aircon and fan noisy, poor internet that is only available in the reception area. One is misled by the photos on the web site and believe its much better than it really is. Whilst the cost is not an issue its really more like a back packers hostel

Bed bugs
I stayed for two nights. The staff were nice and helpful, the food was good (although it took a long time to get the food) and the view was great; however, the thing that ruined it for me was getting bitten by bed bugs that itched so bad. I was uncomfortable for over a week and have scarring. The hotel also had no hot water.

Good location
Stayed in an Eco room. Sheet had stains and bugs in the bathroom. Cold shower also. Island hopping tour was arranged for php1500 when 2mins walk in town are for 800 max. Overall location is very good but needs some renovation and overall major cleanliness for rooms.

Lovely little place
Steve (the owner) greeted us and upgraded our room to one with air con which was lovely (I didn't realise I had booked a fan room). Room was prefect for what we needed. Great food in the hotel although there isn't much other option in the local area so it's a good job!

Do not stay here if you want to stay in Port Barton!! It is not close or easily accessible from the hotel. Good food at the restaurant, but service is a little bit slow. The restaurant is closed between 1 and 5pm.

not recommended and not worth your money
The hotel is the only one (western style hotels) in San Vicente, so you have no choice. The town is OK, but the hotel no so nice. - our room was next to a pool, so there is no veranda, no balcony, nothing. When you open the door you can literally jump to the pool. Sounds good? Yes, but only when you are the only guests in the hotel. In other cases somebody sits near to your doors/window or just passing to their rooms/restaurant etc. as this is a corridor. It means you can not open a window, the doors etc. - in the room was no AC (only fans and something like a fan with leaking water, with no external outlet, so it was working as a heater, not cooler and makes A LOT of noice) - bathroom was private, but when the room is not occupied it is used by pool guest (it means 24h somebody was trying to get in to the toilet, terrible experience) - the room was around 1,9m high... - the bathroom was dirty and shower was almost in the toilet, it's OK for pool guests, but not as a toilet in a hotel room - TOTALLY OVERPRICED for this standard - the only one western style restaurant in the town, absolutely do not recommend it - food is undercooked (chicken), rehashed french frites, ordered chicken fillet, got chicken with bones, cold food. In general almost every meal there was a fail. - common areas as i.e. pool area wasn't cleaned at all - a lot of sand and every day the same empty plastic bottles - pool was dirty with a lot of bugs, flies etc. - Long beach (it's wild beach) is 15mins walk

An unexpected adventure
The last part of getting to the hotel from Puerto Princesa airport was a nightmare. The van dropped me off on the road at night in the middle of nowhere near a hut where there was an old motorcycle. The owner of the motorcycle agreed to take me to the hotel on a scary dirt road all rocks, sand and holes. Halfway through this trip, the motorcycle stopped. There was no gas. Anyway, the driver managed to get some from someone coming from behind and we got to the hotel. The hotel owner, a German man, greeted me with a bad surprise: he had given my room to someone else for that night because I arrived late. I had booked and paid in full through hotels.com, a company that claims bookings are guaranteed. Anyway, that man took me to a nearby hotel for that night then picked me up in the morning to my room in his hotel.

Sold our room despite booking and paying in full
This was a truly unique experience! After reading numerous reviews of this place and the issue of over-booking rooms, we decided to call on the morning of departure to check our reservation. We spoke to Steve and was told everything was fine. We travelled for three hours from El Nido and upon arrival, were told "we have a problem." Steve was very jovial about the matter and said don't worry but our room was unavailable but that we could stay somewhere else that night and move tomorrow - this included going to another hotel! As this was our last two nights on holiday, this was most upsetting. There were also another couple with us who had booked who were told the same thing. Absolutely outrageous! Steve left to go and speak to a friend to see if we could stay at his hotel and be upgraded but this was full. He then took us to another 'lovely property opposite White Beach' which was awful! It was in a gated garden with motel style, dirty rooms which smelt. Our only option was to leave san Vincente and travel down to Puerto early. Steve did not seem perturbed by this and blamed his booking agent. We used his laptop to book another hotel and he offered us a free sandwich, drink and gave us the cash for our booking. We then had to travel another three and a half hours on a locals minivan to Puerto and spend our last couple of days in the city. This completely ruined the end of our holiday. I would deter anyone from booking this resort

friendly atmosphere, incredible pool view, & bands
This small hotel was very pleasant for our stay in the Palawan Island. We stopped there on our way to El Nido and ended up staying 3 nights. STEVE the owner is a lot of fun to talk with, and there is a family vibe in this hotel between him and the staff. Beaches very close-by: rent a motorbike at the hotel and go on the beaches, it's a lot of fun. Long Beach is exactly what is to be expected: super long and deserted, but with a lot of sand flies. Sunset beach is really nice and the view of the sunset is incredible. The hotel pool is such a fantastic refreshment. Food is very good too, and varied. Staff was very pleasant and smiling. We had the basic room for the first night, SR2, with 2 fans which did a good job for our taste. The second night we had to move to the room in front of the pool due to fully booked hotel (we didn't have reservations), and that room is extremely uncomfortable (very humid and hot with no air circulation). Fortunately we were able to move back to SR2 the last night. Live small bands in the evening add to the charm. Music in the morning is distracting due to the horrible speakers that distort and playback only in high frequencies (Steve, please replace those speakers!). There is a pool table, hidden in the back and full of dust - maybe it's out of order? What a shame... Would have been fun to play! Overall we recommend this hotel, especially if you can catch a good deal on a booking app.

terrible hotel.
1. The booking state “very fast internet”, that is not the case at all! 50% of the time the internet is not working. The hotel staff say that this is always like this on Palawan. That is not an answer or an excuse, it is the hotel responsibility to give this information BEFORE the booking, not upon arrival. 2. There was NO hot water in the hotel. According to the hotel manager this is because the boiler run on solar energy, this is not an answer or excuse, I do not care hot the hotel hit the boiler, having hot water is a very basic thing and the hotel did not provide this. 3. The hotel supposed to be a three star hotel, however our room was not up to that standart: the shower constructions was not even complete! There was not flooring on the shower, and we have pictures to prove this. 4. There was ants all over the bed and room once we arrived, when we told this to the hotel manager he came to the room with anti-bugs spray, but how are we supposed to sleep in the room after he sprayed it? The spray is toxic for us just as much as for the bugs! 5. 5) from 19:00 until 22:00 they play live music in a very loud speakers which was horrible for us as our room was just under the stage and the construction was so poor that we could not relax.

Amazing view
Pros: - the view from the restaurant and some of the rooms is breathtaking. - the pizza was very good - the staff were pleasant and tried their best to give good service - short walk to the boardwalk/pier, 10 minute walk to the beautiful Long Beach (really no need to book an island hopping tour or a private island shtick -- Long Beach was beautiful and deserted during the Christmas holiday period) Cons: - on two different days I went swimming in the pool and both times it was FULL of dead bugs. Once at night and once in the morning ... maybe I missed the cleaning period? - our room's safe was broken, we told the staff and they brought us a new key. - no tv remote in the room. - the air conditioner did not work well and was dumping large amounts of water outside the room. - our booking said we would have hot water in the shower, and the staff told us that the hot water is "solar powered" .. well it was sunny for the 3 days we were there and not once was there hot water. - the owner is a very loud and boisterous man who speaks to all of the men on the resort but seems to have some hostilities towards women. He also makes excuses for the many problems guests experience, such as not having a motorbike ready that was booked the night before, waiting 1h30 hours for food (understaffed), and the credit card machine not working (happened to us and he loudly proclaimed to everyone in earshot that it 'must be our card!" Right. It worked before and after staying at this place. No class

This hotel is amazing for a couples night in
The views are amazing! This inn has a great food and an awesome pool and is around the corner from Long Beach. There's not much to do in the city, but this should change soon now that the main entry road is sealed i would expect tourism to rise here. I highly recommend a romantic night in here.

Better the expected
We enjoyed our stay at peace and love, it was clean and had a nice pool. The food was tasty but it took a long time to get our orders. We stayed in a economy room without aircon, just fan- got really warm. Overall it was a good stay, would go there again but with a room with AC.

True disappointment; far from description/photos!
Truly shocked by the difference between reality and website/photos.. Dirty pool, no beach nearby (12km/25min by taxi), room was not available, WiFi did not work (only sometimes according to employees), no spa, misleading ‘infinity pool’ pictures, loud music all day long. Outside there even is a sign that the establishment has been closed by Philippinian authorities?!
