Staff wise, Jia and Ali were lovely. Hotel was lovely though in need of a bit of a touch up. The balcony of the room we stayed in was massive but could have done with sun loungers as a waste of space. Also one of the railing struts was loose and dangerous as a child could push against and fall. Pool was fantastic but loungers were past their best and in need of replacing as too low, falling to bits and mattresses were splitting and fraying. There was nothing to do in evening as no bar, we just watched TV in room. Food was average. The gym was disgusting and stunk of mould, carpet was stained. Ot was lovely going to sleep to sound of waves. Gardens and grounds were very well maintained. Enjoyed watching the resident family of geese each morning as they swam the lilly pond. We had a very relaxing stay and the staff were very welcoming and accommodating.

A total mess, under big refurbishment & construction. Nothing like described on the website or other media. Rooms dirty, moldy & damp, had to clean cupboards ourselves before use. The pool with 2 sun loungers & 2 bean bags & restaurant were the only facilities for use. Ended up staying 2 nights but booked in for 14, cancelled booking, got total refund (thank you) & moved. We stayed here few times in the past when it was lovely. We enquired why the huge difference then found out it had been closed with no maintenance for the last 3 years. Sorry staff but it had to be said & you really do need new uniforms.

Amazing peaceful place
It was the most peaceful resort we ever been. Amazing staff and service. Food was great as well. I recommend to all my friends. It is truly hidden gem of bali. Other places were loud and crowded but this hotel was very quiet and peaceful. Only few minutes away from the safari and it was really fun!

Lovely hotel and rooms but isolated.
Really nice hotel building and rooms with a gorgeous pool area. However the location is not in a tourist area, there's nothing much around except some small supermarkets and restaurants for locals and the beach is black volcanic sand. There really was nothing to do except sit by the pool and admire the view. Aside from a large wedding party and maybe one other couple we seemed to be the only other guests. Because if the wedding party the only bar - aside from the restaurant was closed to any other guests, which really limited our options! Breakfast was a large buffet, although the western offering was quite limited. Unfortunately even though breakfast was served until 11am, at 10am we were disturbed by a call to our room asking if we were going to breakfast and if so what time were we going. Luckily we had just woken but I can't recall a hotel doing that before. Overall it's a lovely hotel but with nothing much around or in the hotel to do we wouldn't return. It's really more set up for large wedding party's.

Rumah Luwih is beautiful. Styled as a mansion by the sea rather than an impersonal hotel, it is easy to imagine you actually live in this enormous house. Stunning interiors and exteriors. The rooms are spacious and the staff are friendly. However, Rumah Luwih is very isolated and is 30 minutes minimum from anywhere and the hotel staff only offer their own very expensive transport options. There are taxis and Uber style services on offer but they often don't want to drive out this far. For this reason, I would not stay here again. If Rumah Luwih were more helpful providing free shuttles or competitively priced transport all day and night til 11pm, I might reconsider.

Even though the property is in the middle of the city, you feel like you are in a place of your own. Very peaceful and quiet, can't hear the traffic noise from the main street at all. Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Great place for relaxing and the view is awesome!
