Great stay at Kerama Beach Hotel, the team there were amazing and looked after our every need. The hotel is situated away from the main town but we were able to use the hotel shuttle bus any time we needed. The food was varied and really excellent. Not a lot happening in and around the hotel but that suited us fine and the surrounding area is great for walking & snorkelling. All in all a lovely stay!

Geary experience from start to finish. Their driver was waiting for us by name when the ferry arrived, they shuttled us to the different attractions on the island even outside of regular hours, they organized all our rental and reservation needs, and they provided an amazing breakfast and dinner included in the price of the room. Absolutely no complaints or disappointments. Best hotel stay I've had and at a great price.

I recommend to people that like to relax
We loved the service and devotion to accommodate. The Japanese food was awesome, we liked the location better to rent a scooter, make sure you have motorcycle class international d/l, it is a hilly island, bicycle power assist are available at hotel, so is the snorkeling equipment and price is same than beaches or elsewhere.

Hotel is right on the beach. Staff was amazing and shuttled us anywhere and everywhere. The meals at the hotel are divine and I highly recommend. I took my parents and siblings here. None of them had been to Japan or spoke Japanese but it was no problem. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It was not a new building but this is one one the best buildings on Zamami. Me and my family will absolutely be returning to Kerama Hotel

Kerama Beach Hotel was a fine experience. Located a short distance from Zamami, though a long distance to walk in the heat or a rain squall, the room was unexpectedly larger than what I would expect from over 50 years residence in Japan. Breakfast and dinner were included and the dinners were a pleasant experience. No menu, but the first night's sashimi, fried shrimp, misoshiru soup and extras was excellent. Next night's change to steak was a surprise but quite good. For nightlife it was off by the hotel shuttle to Zamami which has no taxis. The evening shuttles are at nominal fee and the drivers polite and free with local information providing names and locations of Zamami inzakaya/bars. The last returning shuttle is at 10 PM and it is a long, dark uphill walk back should you miss the shuttle. Night one the shuttle stopped at mid-point and passengers alighted to experience a stunning array of stars. The drawback thought to staying at Kerama Beach Hotel is the distance from Zamami. This is mostly offset by the shuttle availability and bike and electric bike rentals which the hotel provides. I would definitely recommend the Kerama Beach and would stay there again.

Nice little hotel in paradise
We loved this hotel. The rooms are basic and could use some updating but the staff is so nice, the food was great and the shuttle got us everywhere we wanted to go. The island is amazing. Would gladly stay here again.

Nice hotel In Zamami Island.
Great staff. Place is old, needs rennovation, rooms a little bit with humid smell. Staff is outstanding, made my stay worth it. Food is great ! Nothing around the area so its best to include breakfast and dinner in the reservation.

Feel welcome and at home at Asa beach
This was our second visit to Kerama Beach Hotel and again our stay was a very pleasant one. The staff is a chapter for itself. Friendly and welcoming and they will do what ever they can to make your stay memorable. Included in your stay are two meals. Breakfast and dinner. The meals served are very delicious and freshly made and they try to accomedate the guests with a variate menu of Japanese and western style cuisine. To me, they could just do the Japanese because that is where the strengths are obviously. If you stay for some days you will feel like you are in one big family because you will meet the other guests in the morning and evening in the dinning room, and there is a good and homely feel to it. The location is a bit remote from Zamami village, but that means it is quiet and should you be a beach person, you literally just have to go 10meters away from the front door and you will find yourself on a very beautiful and clean beach. Kerama Becah Hotel is highly recommendable.

Location
Being located at Asa beach side, there is more privacy, less crowded. Nice for strolls and dips in the sea, relaxing and lovely sunrise/sunsets. Quick access to Furuzamami beach makes it easy for those wishing to scuba dive, snorkel and do turtle watching.

Quiet Retreat in Paradise
We spent 4 nights here at the beginning June. We were the beneficiaries of a gracious English-speaking host at a small hotel where every room has a view of the nearby cove and comes with 3 meals a day. For a first-time visitor to Japan jumping right in to the deep end (visiting a small island off the coast of the southernmost prefecture of a country where English is often a distant 2nd and the value of the Yen does not favor the USD), this made our trip. The locals are generally friendly, and even at worst are still accommodating of misunderstandings by foreign tourists. The water is blue and clear and warm. Be sure to snorkel at either Furuzamami or Ama beaches. You'll be rewarded with colorful, bountiful fish and coral reefs and, sometimes, see turtles.Rental equipment (masks, fins, wet suits, towels, chairs, inflatables, etc.) are available for rental (we paid, each, 300¥ for towels, another ¥1000 for fins plus snorkel mask, but didn't rent a life jacket). There's also several viewpoints dotted around the island, and are fairly easily accessible by bike (manual or e-assist) or scooter rental (assuming you have your IDP). Our host was kind enough to drop us off. Also good to know, there's an ATM that accepts foreign cards in Zamami village. And that brings me to my caveat: the purchasing power of your exchanged currency is not on your side. At the time, the exchange rate of our dollars was 113:1. But the cost of things made that feel like 120:1.

Staff is amazing and incredibly helpful and kind. The hotel location is a 5 min drive from the beaches and downtown but there is lots of transportation and it's not difficult to get around because the island is small. Breakfast and dinner were good, service was great. Though it's a bit expensive, it was worth it because of the meals, transportation, and help that the staff gave me in planning my days. Would stay there again!

Good hotel close to the beach
This is a nice small hotel close to the beach a few minutes drive from the main village on the island. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and drove us to any place we wished on the island at no extra expense during our stay. The hotel has a family atmosphere and the food in the restaurant is excellent. If it hadn't been for the excellent staff, though, I would have felt that the hotel was a bit overpriced.

Excellent secluded hotel with great staff
The staff at the kerama beach hotel was very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure everything was great. They even offered to shuttle us to and from the town whenever needed. It's a great place to stay in a secluded area.

Kerama beach hotel
I enjoyed my stay with my 3 daughters very much. The staff was awesome and tried their best to make sure we had a great time. We only stayed for one night and it was great. Expect Japanese food at the hotel, so don't let that be a surprise, if it's your cup of tea, then you will be fine. The hotel staff was eager to assist/help all the time. They even went out of their way during our dinner to let us know about the sunset time, and to point us on a nice short trek to a nice place to go enjoy it. Over all I personally feel the cost was worth it, a little cheaper would have been better considering the quality/amenities, but the staff made up for it. Keep in mind this is a remote, and small island.
