SAD FUNERAL TRIP
Nice place, right on Hwy 51 and close to Virginia, Harpers Ferry, casino. Everything you need is super close. Nice people too.

Disappointed and won’t come back again
Here’s a draft of your hotel review: I was incredibly disappointed with my stay. The issues started with the bathroom— the shower floor was soft and clearly not supported, which felt unsafe. It was obvious the shower hadn’t been cleaned properly in weeks. Mold was visible on the lamp shade, and the lamps themselves were rusted. The lack of attention to detail continued with the towels—there was only one washcloth provided for two people over two days, which is unacceptable. Customer service at the front desk bordered on rude; there was little effort to make guests feel welcome or valued. As for breakfast, it was unappetizing—everything looked rubbery and unappealing. Additionally, the options were not food allergy-friendly at all, which made it impossible for me to eat safely. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless major improvements are made in cleanliness, maintenance, guest amenities, and staff hospitality. A truly disappointing experience. Stayed here two years ago and this was night and day difference between the two

Aged hotel. When we walked in it looked recently remodeled. But cleanliness is where things went wrong. We found a large toenail beside the bed. Cobwebs in the corner. Mold and mildew in the caulk of the shower. Dirt and handprints on the doors

Great VAlue
Great value...this motel but the rooms have been renovated. The staff is efficient and helpful. The parking lot is well lit. The motel is in a nice part of town and is within eyesight of the casino parking lot. All at a reasonable price. This is a great value!

The smell of marajuana was so strong that you could smell it while inside your room. Staff was unconcerned about the people walking around the rooms smoking it. They wouldn’t try to find a ground floor room for us when it was clear that we were handicapped, so we had to climb 2 flights of stairs to get to our room. The front desk clerk who checked us in was extremely rude and unprofessional

Part of this is on me b/c I didn't realize this was a MOtel and not a HOtel. I also didn't realize that WV allows smoking in rooms so I never looked for the option for a non smoking room. I will next time b/c the room reeked of cigarette smoke so bad that we both had sinus issues. While most of the room was renovated, the walls were in bad shape, the ceiling over the old shower insert was peeling, and the front door was filthy and in bad shape. Also folks looking at this motel should know that there are indeed permanent residents there, so infer what you will about possible ongoing activities.
