Really cool place full of train history and kitsch
The hostel is a really cool place; I wish we had stayed longer to explore it more. The breakfast was lovely; the neighborhood interesting but a bit sketchy.

Best avoided
Extremely rude staff who treat you like you're a criminal before you've even said a word, dark rooms with wafer-thin, uncomfortable bedding, sewer smell coming from the bathroom... The train theme is unfortunately not fun enough to make up for the shortcomings of this hotel. Nice restaurant though, with friendly staff who seem just as confused as the guests by the behaviour of the hotel management team.

Cute hostel
Overall this is a good hostel. The decor is really cute and the common areas are really nice. The breakfast is a bit pricey at 8 euro, and during the day you can’t really be in common areas because it looks like they’re doing renovations , but in general it’s a decent place to stay if visiting Brussels

This place is a bit far from city but easily commutable. It was very neat and the staff were friendly. Would recommed this place if you are okay to stay a bit far from city. It has a nice bar just 5 mins walk from the hostel and the area was also secure.

Interesting theme for kids and train lovers
My child and I got to stay in an empty dormitory room instead of a twin room. Bunk beds made us feel like sleeping in the overnight train and it was fun. But the bed was very narrow and sealing was too low for adult. At least, children must love it.

I wasn't too thrilled with this hostel. The power outlets were very limited in the room and the beds were rather uncomfortable. It is quite outside the city with not much around it in terms of restaurants or snacks. I think you can find better within Brussels.

Great experience
Very clean, very well ran hostel, great wifi, in an area very well connected to the tourist sites of Brussels by tram 92, the 59 bus or train from Schaerbeek station. The tram which stops practically right in front of the Hostel will take you to the main art museums including the Magritte Museum, the music museum and the Royal Palace. Whilst the Bus takes you to the EU area where you can visit parliament and the train can get you quickly to the centre of Brussels. The rooms of the hostel also makes sure that they are lockers for your belongs in your room and enough plugs to charge your electronics. Very professional relaxed atmosphere so thankfully you can get some sleep unlike other hostels I have experienced.

Bed bugs or fleas!
Got bites all over my body after staying for 3 nights, not worth it as it affected the rest of my vacation and I had to throw away a bunch of clothes!!

Good Value for Train Lovers
We're very glad we picked this Hostel for this trip. It was fun staying in the Train-themed room. As it was early August, the rooms got very hot, so that made it a bit uncomfortable at night. The location is good, being next to Train World (fabulous museum, by the way!), and is an easy Tram ride into the heart of Brussels. I had seen others complain about it being too far out, but having just come from Paris, we found that we spent less time getting to the sights in Brussels, than we did most days getting from our place in Paris near Montmartre to the big sights in Paris, so that wasn't bad.

This was a great property to stay at. The only downfall was the distance from city center. However Uber was a very affordable way to get there. The staff was great and the overall stay was very comfortable. Thank you!

The location of this rail-themed hostel is perfect for overnight connections from Brussels National Airport. The multi-lingual receptionist, gliding seamlessly between European languages, made the welcome more personal, warm and friendly. The location of the hostel has a good selection of eateries and watering holes that were still accommodating in spite of my late arrival. Yes, it did the job of giving me a good lie-in, leaving me refreshed and ready for the next days intercontinental flight. I left in the morning feeling that this brief interlude at the Train Hostel had become a small main part of my wider travel plans. I will be making Brussels my favorite stopover on account of this.

Great hostel away from the hustle and bustle
This is hostel is very close to a tram and train station, but the surrounding businesses aren’t the most tourist-friendly. However, it is only two stops away from the main part of the city, and the hostel itself is overall great.

Good staff, Lia at the front desk was great
The place was good. Interesting hotel, the inside looks like an old train. The front staff was very helpful, Lia the front desk lady was very nice. Down side was the bathroom is not attached, so you have to walk across the rooms many times to use it, and there is no AC, and hot here, still a good stay.

Quirky and bijou original train carriage
Fantastic experience sleeping in an original train carriage. Very snug but very comfortable and rather exciting. A rare adventure enjoyed by the adults as well as the kids. Had never stayed in a hostel before and had been worried about security and the shared bathroom but we needn't have worried at all. It was spotlessly clean throughout, we felt very secure in our carriage and had a very quiet restful night and breakast was lovely. We hope to visit again soon and would definitely recommend it.

Do you love trains?
Enjoyed the train theme as well as the vouchers for the nearby train museum. If you like trains, this is your holy land. Also nearby is the Schaerbeek train station which is only 2 stops from city center. The rest of the surrounding area is rather bland. A few cafes, and a police station is about all there is. Hotel itself was everything we expected for the price. As long as the value is the same, we’d stay again.

Good Hostel but a long way from the main sights
Good clean hostel with friendly staff however it is a 50minute walk from the centre or a short train ride away and there is not much around the hostel. The larger dorms contained 3 tiered bunk beds which meant they were not very comfortable due to lack of space between bunks. They did have good large lockers in the rooms however and the only way to enter the dorms was through an electronic key. There is a kitchen and a nice common area which includes a table football. Overall a nice hostel which is in a good location if you want to visit the train museum but a poor location if you want to visit anything else.
