Good Budget Location in St John's
Excellent location, although drivers should note that the indoor parking across the street will cost $17 a day or more. Truly excellent housekeeping! Comfortable bed, good shower although water will take a couple of minutes' running to heat up. Room was initially quite cold, but the Honeywell switch warmed it up nicely. Be aware if stairs are an issue, it wasn't a problem for me. Mere steps from the Duke of Duckworth pub, possibly the best fish & chips in Canada! Also close to The Ship pub. Good accommodations for the price, I could stay here again in future.

Two nights in downtown.
The hotel is nice. Room was clean. Staff is friendly. Great location in downtown area. Close to many pubs and restaurants. Unfortunately, entrance into the hotel was frustrating, as I was left in the pouring rain with nobody answering my phone call (you have to call when you arrive so a staff member can unlock the entrance to the hotel). The TV is the size of a computer desktop monitor, which makes it difficult to watch unless you’re sitting directly in front of it. That said, I would stay again.

This is my second time staying here. The room was comfortable and the hotel is in a very convenient location. The room I stayed in had some minor, but unfinished damage repairs (unpainted drywall patches), which probably should have been completed before being available for use. Otherwise, I would stay again. Cheers.

The inn is a historic building that is very unique. There is a code to get in and the keys are left taped to the Room door. There is no elevator, so if you have large bags or suitcases, you will need to be able to carry them up the steep winding staircase. There is a shared bathroom on each floor. It is clean, but shows the age of the building. Location is ideal for visiting George Street.

This very old property has always been a lodging house. The renovation is tasteful and beautiful. We were very comfortable. The area is rough - but it is right in the middle of the famous George and Water street. You can walk to the Battery District and view the harbour from a height. Parking is easily handled by a municipal building across the street. We stayed for four nights and were surprised at how inexpensive it was.

Overall it was as described and what I expected. Except for the strong damp smell of mold. It did not feel healthy to be in the room at the top floor. There is an issue that must be addressed.

This is a very old building and the rooms could use some TLC. The stairwell leans quite a bit too, which adds character if nothing else. I also did not realize the bathroom was going to be shared, which should be highlighted in the descriptions. If you don't mind the old boarding house feel, its very close to all the food and entertainment.

The location is excellent. Walking distance to harbour, pubs, restaurants, shops and the metro overnight parking lot that is across the street. The hotel is unique as it is located in an old building with narrow staircases, etc and the bedrooms which are a combination of old and modern, are very comfortable.

It was a lovely accomodation, really close to everything in St. John's. The street below can get a bit loud at night but having the a/c on we didn't notice it much.
