Nyuto onsen plus tazawako skiing
The hotel is very easy to find by car. It is one of the first ones you will encounter after about a 15 min drive from tazawako ski hill. The bath is ok - first time I say this that the indoor bath is better than outdoor as the outdoor women s bath is small - a square really surrounded by snow but you can’t see much except for white walls and it has a roof. I was there during a time when 5 Taiwanese ladies were having a conversation about how one of them s brother is impotent and how her sister in law was still very nice about it etc. Note to all - please don’t have a conversation just in case other ppl can understand and please keep voices to a minimal when you are using a public bath.
The hotel is close for driving distance to Tsurunoya - one of the oldest if not oldest onsen there - a good experience especially the outdoor mix bath and the women’s outdoor.
The food provided by the hotel is buffet style both for breakfast and dinner and very simple - nothing fancy except for one night where they offer extras of higher quality beef and chicken. Other wise the food is very plain and simple.
The staff in the restaurants are helpful and polite.
I would recommend this hotel for price conscious but if you want better food maybe try a pricier hotel.
the hotel not very accommodative to guest's train schedule. i couldn't have breakfast on the last day because the departure time from the hotel is too early.
