I had called two weeks in advance to ask if we might be given a ground-floor room--we're getting older and lugging bags up stairs is getting harder. When we arrived the desk knew nothing about this and I had to show them my phone to prove I had called and when. They said they had one ground-floor room available, so we took it. It smelled a little musty, but thereafter I would say that the maid service was good. Anyone who happened to be on the desk always greeted us pleasantly. The breakfast on offer is very good--the only thing that would make it better is...bacon!
