Nice place. Terrible hospitality
This property is well kept and clean. Breakfast is middle of the road. The management however is unfriendly and unhelpful and without social skills. We stayed 4 nights. On our second morning I was awakened by knocking on the door at 9:00 am. The man that had checked me in was at the door and wanted to come in to service the room. I told him I need 15/30 min. He told me no. I then asked my husband if he wanted to go ahead and leave. I told the man we would leave in a couple on minutes and shut the door. I went in the bathroom and the door was closed. The man came into our room anyway and nearly opened the bathroom door on me. I was livid. I yelled out and told him to get the Hell out. He left. Then when we came back. We had to go to the desk because we had no towels in our room. We needed to do laundry. I went to the desk and asked if I could get quarters for the machines. . Told me “No”. I asked how long the wash and dry cycles were. Got a shoulder shrug.
I’m not sure if the manager and wife are owners but if they are they really need to work on their social skills if they want to succeed in the business of hospitality. Our experience was not hospitable at all. Neither one of them ever greeted us, smiled or acknowledged that the even saw us in passing by us in the hallway, lobby or breakfast room during the course of our stay. Our daughter live near Parker’s prairie. We’ll try another hotel next time

Horrible pool
The pool was about 90% chlorine and the rest other chemicals. Burned your skin and eyes the moment you walked into the pool area. Gosh forbid you get it in your mouth!!!!!

They need more than the 1 person I saw working there. It took a long time to get his attention so that I could check in.
The bathroom door was not functioning properly. I had to lift up on it to open and close it.

Super clean and comfy!
Great property! Very, very clean. Host/owner was excellent! Thought it was a great value. Room was large and roomy with a great mattress, large bathroom with plenty of towels. Everything was in excellent condition. Would definitely stay here again.

Trouble checking in
The room was clean and roomy. Bed was comfortable. Nice long counter in the bathroom. Skimpy with the soap and shampoo. Check in was a little shaky as hotels.com charged our credit card but their payment to the hotel errored so we weren’t able to check in until they straightened it out with the hotel front desk. It took awhile to reach hotels.com but once we reached them they told us to pay the hotel the whole bill and they would reimburse us.

Rude staff
Not sure why the manager found it necessary to pound on my door at 9am, wondering if I needed help checking out. Check-out is at 11am (it says so right on the sign on the wall), so why the rush to get people out of there? Next time, I'll drive the extra minutes to Alexandria, and stay there.

Pros: Good price, clean, good shower pressure. Cute restaurant and brewery right next door. Con: TV did not work and the property manager did not try to fix it or look at it when i called down to ask. No one was ever at the front desk. Breakfast was very sub par ( example no cream cheese for bagels, no jelly for toast).

We won’t be back
This hotel has gone downhill since it was a Grandstay. We won’t be back for several reasons. Arrived late (11:40 pm, called to let them know) and was told no rooms available on the first floor. We’ve never stayed on any other floor. I asked where the elevator was and was told they don’t have one. We had a cart full of stuff since we stayed for 5 days. I’ve had 2 knee surgeries so not thrilled. Apparently they are trying to save money as the common areas/hallway was not air conditioned. It was stifling. Lamp did not work, had to ask for a light bulb. Cut back on breakfast (didn’t even bother). No eggs, no meat, crock pot with dried up gravy for biscuits. Pool hours are 9-9 instead of midnight on weekends so not able to swim. Shower shelf was scummy so obviously not cleaned thoroughly. I couldn’t understand the front desk clerk (he had an accent). No ice machine on 2nd floor. This hotel used to provide Bath & Body Works products for shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Now it’s a packet that would in no way work for my long curly hair (glad I brought my own). Like a ketchup packet. Kleenex were like wafer paper so had to use a minimum of two per time. Went through an entire box so doubt they are saving money by going cheap on supplies.
