Walking distance to bus stop and convenience stores. About 5 minutes walk to station. Overall a good stay, only complaint is that the listing says they have laundry, but there were no laundry machines on site. This was one of the reasons I booked the place over others. Otherwise, it was a very good stay with comfortable bed and spacious room and bathroom.

Great location, cheep and cheerful
This hotel is in a fantastic location (thanks to the staff for sending a map, it is down the darker end of the street), super close to East Nanjing Rd and the Bund. The person at the desk upgraded us to a bigger room as we had to wait a while to check in. The room was indeed bigger than we'd booked and very comfortable, just with some open steps up to the bed that were a little scary in the dark! Everything was fine for us as a cheap one-night stay in Shanghai, no issues. Free bottled water was also appreciated.

Double room at Fish Inn
Was a lovely spacious room for the price and my requirements. Always came back to fresh bottles of water on the desk. The shower was really good and the bed was very comfortable.

Loved this place and would happily stay here again.
Look for the old Shanghai Bank building on the corner where there’s an overpass and that’s your best landmark for finding the place.
I had to check in at 1am due to a hassle with my flight and it still went smoothly. Great having a noon checkout too.
Some lovely local restaurants nearby. Fantastic value for money and very close to the East Nanjing subway station (5mins).

Basic, clean, comfortable
Stayed in this hotel for one night by self. Basic, comfortable, clean. About 600 meters from East Nanjing Road shopping district and 1000 meters from the Bund. Complimentary bottled water and canned Coke. A lot of family restaurants in the area.

simple and clean
It is clean but pretty basic. the showers were excellent but it was a little cold as the windows were broken in my room so couldn't be closed properly, but they fixed it pretty quickly. I would encourage them to provide portable heaters to guests in the winter

Inexpensive for the excellent location
Hard to find location. Small entrance is more like a hostel than a hotel. I would rate 2.5 stars. World's smallest lift.
Not all front dest staff speak English as other reviewers have said. But they are friendly and helpful.
10 minute walk to the number 1 tourist attraction in Shanghai, the Bund. Close to the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel entrance which brings you within 15 minute walk of the Oriental Pearl Tower, a must do attraction.

Out performed our expectations for the cost.
Great location, just 5 min. walk to Metro & 8 min. to the big square.
Rooms clean.
Make sure you get someone at taxi stand to write in Chinese the hotel & its address.
It will save searching for Hotel entrance.

This is a very cozy and convenient place to stay. The staff at the desk were very helpful. Coffee and beer were available right there and the staff were attentive. The only drawback to the hotel is that it is a bit dated and in need of a refresher update.

Quirky hotel in great location
If you are looking for something different from the corporate, sterile hotel experience, this is the place! Quirky and comfortable, good value and great location. Staff are very nice.
