This is not my first visit to Samiria but I was disappointed to see how the owners have not kept up with maintenance. Our room, family suite on the 7th floor of the second tower FLOODED! We requested a change of room 4 times until the general manager finally came to our room with a very rude and condescending answer telling me the hard rain was unusual for the area. I was born and raised in Iquitos, I know how hard rain gets down there! We were given a new smaller suite, this one didn't have a working air conditioner which was an inconvenience given the fact there were 5 of us in one room, they gave us an old fan which broke when we changed the speed. I complained again! This time the night supervisor came to our rescue! He was so nice and made sure we were given a room with working AC, thank you Christian! My main complain about this hotel is the lack of maintenance of the facility (elevator was dirty, elevator windows and second tower windows were dirty too) The whole second tower flooded from the 7th to the first floor. What this hotel is doing right is having great staff! The morning and night supervisors, the waiters and bartenders were all really nice and prompt with our requests, greeted us every day and made sure we were having a good stay post flood incident (with the exception of the general manager) Unfortunately, this is the last time we stay at Samiria unless the owners put some money back to make sure the maintenance of the buildings are well kept.

Hmmm
I spent 2 nights for a business trip. Check-in was not ideal. I was not able to check-in until the evening. Staff was apologetic and they did accommodate moving me to another, bigger, room when the music at the bar became too loud during the second night. Internet service is not ideal either, so mixed review.

Iquitos Stay
The hotel was situated in a good part of Isquitos, a short walk to the square and the waterfront with restaurants. The tour company inside the hotel was great and organised a day trip in to the Amazon. The room was clean and air conditioned but the air conditioning didn't get to cold but was a lot better than outside. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even organised to drive us to the airport.

A booking nightmare
After we arrived at the hotel the first night the man behind the counter could not find our Expedia reservation that I had had for two days. We had to hassle and haggle just to keep the price that we got from Expedia. The second time we stay there we had to wake him up from sleeping behind the desk to again him not having our reservation. I am again we have to hassle and haggle our price that we got through Expedia. After settling on a price he called my wife A day later and stated that we needed to pay more and that his boss was taking money from him because he didn't charge us enough. What kind of hotel is this? Just felt harassed the entire time and our room wasn't even clean when we got there. the only thing I can say that is nice is the bed was comfortable.

Budget stay with caution
They try hard. Wifi was on and off. Frequent power outages. There was a storm, my room was ok but friend next door had a big leak and room was soaked. Staff did what they could. Don't expect too much.

Definitely not a 4 star hotel
This is far from a 4 star hotel - on a good day when the hot water is working it would be a stretch to give it 3 stars. Simple things like the bedside lamps have been ripped off the wall, so you have to find your bed in the dark or use your phone as a light...At night they turn off the the lights in the corridors of the hotel and even in the reception, so good luck to you if you want to move around at night...Extremely over-priced for what is on offer, though in saying that this is most likely one of the better options in Iquitos (this city is a bit of a dive but there are some cool activities to do nearby so still worth taking a visit). The included breakfast is a joke - don't expect to be impressed....The pool area with bar is nice, though I would say for the travellers wanting an early night this may not be the place for you....the music at the pool area is played loudly until 11pm....
