Nice big room, big comfortable bed and good sized tv. Lovely breakfast and great service from Dee and James. Although the hotel is dated it has been really well looked after and run by Dee and James, its a shame the buildings owners wont invest in the upkeep and it is closing. We would stay again if it were possible to do so. Good luck Dee and James!

Clean room with comfortable bed
Staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. Room was clean with comfortable bed. Sink tap and showerhead leaking but didnt affect performance. Very small tv but we didn't come to Jersey to watch tv. Plenty of tea/coffee in room. Breakfast was fine. Free wifi was only available in reception and dining area, not in room. Hotel would benefit from an upgrade as it is rather dated and tired although the location was on number 2 bus route with St Helier, beach and local area bars/restaurants all easily walkable

Excellent Value
Absolutely immaculately kept. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is dated, but this is reflected in the price. There are also facilities like a bar, swimming pool and pool table :-)

The hotel was easy to get to by bus but also walking distance from the centre of town. The area was quiet, the staff was helpful and polite and the room was clean. Altogether a pleasant stay, I would go back to hotel Talana on my next visit to Jersey.

2/10 Poor

This hotel was an outdated hotel that needs a complete refurbe, look liked a grandma's 1970's bedroom plus was given the wrong room and not offered the one we were supposed to have ,so are all the roomslike this ?? ,no modern showers in the bathroom, just a hose to hold ,no feeling of stepping into a comfortable room to relax after a long day out , breakfast was standard so no complaints with the food and it was clean But this is really a working man's guest house because I would not call it a hotel for this day and age at all

Budget hotel with clean, comfortable rooms and hot shower. Staff were friendly, but had little or no local knowledge, which was disappointing after my data roaming had cost £10 in the first hour of arriving on the island, and the wifi was difficult to find, even in the areas where it was supposed to be available. There was a lot of noise during the night from the workers who seemed to be accommodated in the building (walking, and loud voices). Recommendations: - take earplugs. - research places to eat and drink nearby before you get there. - buy a pay as you go data SIM card for you phone when you get there - an Airtel Vodaphone one cost £5 for 5Gb. - try The White Horse for delicious food and drink at à competitive price. - there’s great food and service at Moitas on the seafront - it’s well worth the money - great freshly prepared food at Thai Smile - spend a day at the zoo - it’s fantastic and so tranquil - you can feel so close to the animals, and the cafe serves lovely food. - use the buses… they’re incredibly cheap! £2.25 per ride, or buy a pass for several days. The number 2 bus passes the Hotel Talana.

We had a room at the front of the hotel and the Road noise was excessive during the night. The shower had little pressure and had to duck to get under the jet.

6/10 Good

The Hotel was clean on the inside, but needed updating in the rooms and especially the walls & window sills outside needed painting. Some of the tiles in the dining room were missing and water stained. The shower was disappointing, a dribble and fluctuations of cold & hot water. Breakfast was okay at the weekend with croissants and pain de chocolat but these were missing during the week. Its been a while since we were there and would not go back to here again. The whole place needs some money spent on it to bring it up to date.

Arrived fairly late and was greeted by the chap on reception with a warm smile. Room was a good size with a spacious bathroom, both extremely clean. Huge comfortable bed with good quality linen. Very quiet but hotel wasn't very busy so cannot vouch for noise at busier times. Breakfast was excellent, well cooked, well presented and good quality produce, nice bar area with a good selection of drinks, nice lounge area which leads to the pool, which again looked very clean. The decor in the hotel is very retro and took me back to family holidays as a child and i loved it. There is a car park but i would imagine it gets a bit tricky during busier times but on our visit there were no issues. All in all, a very pleasurable place to stay and would definitely stay again.

Jersey's little diamond
We booked this hotel after reading the reviews, which were extremely positive. It lived up to our expectations. It was very clean & the room was made up every day. There was also tea and coffee in the room. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. There was always a good selection of cereals, as much bread/toast as you could eat, followed by hot cooked options including full English. We had a slight hiccup in our room when we first checked in but this was very swiftly resolved and we were immediately given another room without hesitation. Nothing was too much trouble. Dee and her husband go out of their way to ensure their guests are catered for and feel happy and settled for the duration of their stay. Dee also very kindly let us leave our car in the car park on the day we left as our ferry wasn’t until after 9pm, enabling us to to use the bus as we did not want to drive around with all our luggage. Something we were very grateful for. Although we did not use the pool we spoke to some who did and they said it was lovely to cool off after a day out. We used to walk to the centre of St Helier through a beautiful park that took about half an hour, but it was on the number 2 bus route if you preferred not to walk with another bus route a 10 minute walk away. There is a large beach about 10/15 minute walk away that was never busy and which surprised us so near the town. In fact Jersey is full of beautiful beaches. We recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again.
