This is exactly our sort of place. From the minute we arrived until the minute we left we felt welcomed and cared for. We were totally captivated. The hotel is beautifully converted from old tower houses. The style and attention to detail is harmonious with its surroundings, creating a peaceful and calming atmosphere. Panos, the owners son was a mine of info re walks, beaches, churches etc. He also is responsible for a serious and wide ranging wine list. But don't be intimidated, the house wine was wonderful and slipped down rather too easily! Meals are prepared by both parents using local ingredients and were quite delicious. This is Greek cooking as we had never experienced. We had a top tower room, which might not suit everyone as it involved a couple of flights of stairs, and another to the bed. But it had the advantage of a big private terrace with far reaching views over to the sea, country and mountain. Also a great place to watch the family of owls that live in near buildings, and at the same time feel safe from the noisy jackels! We suggest you contact the hotel to discuss what sort of room would suit you best. The shower room worked well, good toileteries and comfy bed AND a small posy on the dressing table! I am planning when to return. April is a great time for walking and the flowers are stunning. Roads are quiet, but too cold to eat outside in the evening, and swimming, though quite possible is for the hardy. The best of this trip, and the best ever?
