The Hidden Dragon Village is a beautiful building in an old style in the heart of nature. The hotel overlooks the river and all the peaks, and is a nice, quiet getaway from the very touristy Yangshuo town. The views are definitely some of the best ones we got. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They booked us excellent seats for the Impressions Light Show, tickets for the water cave, etc. all at face value / cost (e.g. there is no booking mark-up - it's simply a service they offer). This was easy for us, because we got a receipt from the hotel and simply exchanged the receipt for a ticket at the ticket office. We also booked a massage with them, and the massage therapist was EXCELLENT and came to the hotel. We were there during low season, and the staff were all very welcoming and often played with our 6 month old, who was traveling with us. The staff also helped us with some late night rides to a nearby restaurant another night, because we were traveling with a baby. The rooms are nice and there was clearly thought that went into the materials and decorations. They're not luxury accommodations, but they are clean and have all the basic necessities. We stayed during the off season, during one of the coldest weeks of the year, and the AC unit had trouble keeping our room very warm. But if you're not traveling in the dead of winter, this likely won't be an issue. There's also a great booklet in the rooms with tons of tips for all of the Yangshuo sites & activities

Awesome Resort
Every service staff is helpful and friendly. They were more like my friends. I will miss the place and all of them. Thank you very much for making my stay comfortable. Must try their Beer Fish, it's simply delicious. You have to order in advance though.

Stunning Scenery
This hotel is located in a small village area which was a nice change from the cities we stayed in elsewhere in China. It iis a little isolated but you can walk to restaurants in another area about 10 minutes away. The hotel was quiet and relaxing and the views outside the windows are amazing.

Personalized service every step of the way
Stayed in this hotel for four days, and the dedication to customer service of the staff is outstanding. We got to know Elle and Lyn and Jerry even before arriving as we had so many questions about the hotel and how to plan our vacation in Yangshuo. They spoke good English and helped us every step of the way from picking us up at the Yangshuo train station to planning our itinerary each day and then bringing us to the Guilin train station for our trip home.

Nice place to stay in Yangshou
The staffs were very friendly and helpful especially Jerry who helped me arrange for my trip to the train station in Xingping. The view in the area is nice but a little far from the city and the arrangement to pick up the guests from the pier could be improved. Overall, it is a nice place.

A rare quiet corner of China
Guilin is a beautiful city of 4 million; Yangshuo is a quaint city of 2 million; but Ji Wo Du village is a gem in the countryside. The Hidden Dragon Villa overlooks one of the most stunning views in this region of stunning views. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The facilities are charmingly old-Chinese, with modern touches. It is just out of the way, but not far from Yangshuo (5 km) and there are plenty of restaurants in the village. There are also lots of modes of transportation (i.e., electric scooters, bikes and car services by phone). It is right near the river so even walking to more beautiful views is an option. It is not in the city, or full of shopping - but we liked it that way. We hope to be back!

Get a room with a view
We had a great time at hidden dragon villa. Get a room with a view, its totally worth it. They have bikes and scooters for rent to help you get around town, we rented a scooter and had a blast cruising around. The restaurant is convenient and the food there was decent. All in all a great stay!

Beautiful view, Good for biking
This was a very nice stay. I had the room with a view and it was beautiful even though it rained the entire time. The bathroom is a bit dated but the hotel is a bit like Yangshuo’s version of a bed and breakfast, meaning it gives you a historical authentic feel. The workers are very nice and helpful. The area is a bit far from city central but is a great place to bike from. Moon hill and the yulong river are within biking distance. There are beautiful paths near by. If you’re interested in the city you should budget money for the taxi but if you do what I did you can stay here a couple of nights to bike around the country side and then book the rest of your nights near the city.

Fantastic quiet hotel!
Hidden Dragon was a fantastic small hotel. The staff were very helpful and kind. Free laundry facilities which was great for our stay. Dont go past the dumpling siup for breakfast in the restaurant, top notch! The hotel was in a fantastic location away from the hustke and bustle of west st in Yangshuo town. The town was a short 40 yuan cab ride away. Local restaurants just around the corner. We also made great use of the hotels bike hire facilities. Great stay! Thanks HiddenDragon!

Too difficult to get to and from
The view is absolutely stunning, however, the rooms have no soundproofing what so ever. Also because the county restricts road access to Hidden Valley to local vehicles only frpm 7am to 7 pm it's a real nuisance to get to and from the hotel.

Stunning outlook in quiet Yangshuo retreat
You'll stay at the Hidden Dragon for the spectacular view - from the rooftop restaurant +bar, and many of the (front*) rooms. But the welcome +care from the staff makes it an especially pleasant stay. Lily and team do all they can to make sure their guests have the best experience of Yangshuo, from the pre-arrival information email, the refreshment on arrival and comprehensive advice about excursions +sights. All front desk staff speak some English. The hotel is about 10 minutes from Yangshuo town, though it takes longer if your driver gets lost, so be sure to get the Chinese address from the hotel, prior to taxi (fare should be about ¥40). You'll cross a bridge, turn left into a drive, then veer left below another hotel entry, before seeing the hotel on the right. If you want to spend a lot of time in town, you may prefer to stay somewhere less isolated. However, as a quiet, and beautiful biking base, close to Moon Hill and other attractions, this is good. Also worth mentioning is the architecture +decor, which aims to recreate Ming/Qing era style. In short, it's a beautiful base from which to explore the Yangshuo region, especially if you want somewhere quiet, away from the tourist crowds. (*Front rooms have the view... Hills are also visible from the rooms at the back, though some nearby low-level construction noise was audible... I'm not sure how ongoing this is).

Staff is absolutely amazing - helped us plan our day to day and assisted in arranging last minute transportation. Amazing hotel with amazing view
We stayed here and even though the hotel was fully book it felt like it was the only one of us there. The hotel was friendly and very accommodating to any request. The restaurant staff was very very nice and it was just a pleasure to take up with an amazing view and go have breakfast with a breathtaking view as well. I specially like their bar/ rooftop area. We brought our own drinks and had wine whilst watching the sunset or was just nice to sit there order a beer after exploring the area. Perfect way to end every day.

It's why you go to Yangshuo
This hotel is so delightful. It is full of character. I booked it because of the photo, so here's an update. The old photo was taken across the street from the hotel, I've included a couple from the roof bar and restaurant. People go to Yangshuo for the Karst landscapes and you'll see it here, I counted 91 formations around the view. There are 20,000 in Yangshuo and 70,000 in the district. Ok the hotel is an old Chinese house. The basics are great, bed comfy, my ac didn't work, there is plenty of hot water. The girls who work here Helen, Lily and Elle are fantastic and go out of their way to assist. I spent 8 days here and they all thought it was funny, but there's lots to do. The Light Show, strolling around Yangshuo, doing a cooking class and making beer fish and the climb (for me at 67) up to Xiangang lookout is unreal and I've been to150 countries! Finally the restaurant is fantastic cheap with lots of choice and what a view! I couldn't go past the sizzling beef, fried rice and dumplings with a beer 18 AUD! You will enjoy this place.

Perfect base to explore Yangshuo
Yangshuo hidden dragon villa was simply amazing! The location in the countryside means that it's quiet (not like Yangshuo town for sure!) and the surrounding scenery is beautiful. The staff is extremely helpful and will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and book activities (like biking and rafting) for you. The rooms are also well equipped, clean, and gorgeous. I highly recommend staying at this gem if you are visiting Yangshuo.

The hotel is ideally located at the start of the walking and cycling paths next to the YuLong river 55km south of Yangshuo town). The staff was very friendly upon arrival and switched me to a river side view bedroom (absolutely fantastic view of the pinnacles!). The room is clean and the furniture traditional yet comfortable. Highly recommended!

Excellent hotel, amazing staff, quiet location
The hotel itself was wonderful. The staff speaks better English than staff at any other hotels at which I stayed throughout China. The bed was very comfortable and not hard like the rest of Asia. The staff were patient and kind and helpful. They made sure I had all the information I needed for the local area, and one lovely staff member even walked me around town a bit after her shift - she showed me how to catch the local bus near the hotel to get into town, and then she walked me to West Street - the main touristy area; extra special service!! There is a rooftop restaurant at the hotel that's open for breakfast and dinner, and they offer a lovely/extensive menu. The hotel is a ways out of town, but because of that it is quiet and quaint. The views are amazing. It costs about 30-40 RMB to get a taxi to the hotel, or you can take the bus which is 3 RMB. I loved my stay here, thanks to the staff who really made me feel welcome!

Best choice in Yangshuo!
I was so impressed with this little hotel - the attention to detail, the care, the friendliness of the staff (especially Lily and Elle who also spoke English). You will be walking distance from Moon Hill and other breathtaking attractions and walks, and about 10-15mins by car from Yangshuo town. Great for solo get aways and family trips. Make sure you book the rooms with the scenic view of the karst formations - it will make a difference.
