This is a good hotel if you need a place in El Centro, and don't plan on staying out late at night. My room faced east onto a pedestrian street, and noise wasn't at all an issue. Showers had hot water, not that you'll need it in Cali. The breakfast was very high quality; I had an omelette, coffee, orange juice and fruit, although they had a bunch of different options for the main dish.
The front desk locks the doors (with chain and padlock) a little after 9pm, which can be a little frightening if you come back to the hotel late at night. The locals advise against hanging around Plaza Cayzedo after dark, and you'll be waiting a minute or so for the doorman to show up. Pretty much all of downtown is fine during the daytime, though.
