this is a hostel...not a hotel
if you like camping this is a good place to stay. If you like to stay in a hotel...dont bother with this place. most unfriendly and uncomfortable. staff needs lots of training to enter the world of hospitality.

good location but no comfort
book this hotel for its lcation near forest, hiking , biking and village life, dont book this hotel when you expect well-trained staff, fluffy towels, comfortable beds or minibars that actually work.

Really upset, first I searched hotels in Holland and specified pool, gym, spa and parking. When I arrived (already paid) I was told parking was charged at x amount and that the pool, spa and gym are closed. They really need to unspecified that they have these facilities, this caused me ad my partner a lot of upset. We spent good money and travelled from Amsterdam to be disappointed and dismissed when asking for it to be cancelled so we could look for a more suitable place. The area around it was nice just the hotel was awful and old

I WILL NEVER USE HOTELS.COM EVER AGAIN
There is not an option here to say that our stay never happened, so I had to click on a bad face. My son and I were in Anguilla Island which is part of the West Indies and were taking a ferry to Sint Maarten. When I logged on at Hotels.com I requested hotels located in Sint Maarten and the Website gave me the Fletcher Hotel. I got the address from the email the hotel sent me and I googled directions from the hotel to the Princess Juliana Airport which is located in Sint Maarten and I got that it was 20 minutes away. I even emailed the hotel but after waiting for a while with no answer, I booked it and got on the ferry to Sint Maarten. Once we arrived to Sint Maarten, the immigration's agent asked us where we were staying, and I showed them the picture of the Fletcher Hotel with the address. The Immigration's agent said that hotel was not in Sint Maarten but it was located in the Netherlands. We felt homeless and scared in an Island we know nobody. When I checked my email and found the answer from the hotel, they said: Sorry, but we are not in Sint Maarten. I canceled the reservation and begged them for a refund and apologized for my mistake. Mr. Roger Splinter from the Fletcher hotel said that I needed to contact Expedia because they could not do anything. I am very disappointed and will never again use Hotels.com

Great location but room for improvement
The location is great and the hotels suite is spacious. Staff was friendly. Shame that you have to pay for every extra such as parking and bicycle rental ( with no flexibility in December if their is no point in a whole day rental). Would have been nice to a lot of big towels, to have tea and coffee as well as classes and mugs on the room to really enjoy it.

July Stay at the Fletcher in Schoorl.
My husband and I stay ed 3 nights at this Fletcher Hotel. A little bit like a step back to the 70's. Very quiet area with many restaurants within easy walking distance. One concern for us was the tub in the bathroom. It got very slick with the water and soap on the surface. We had to be very careful when showering. We ate in the restaurant one night and I had a delicious rib eye steak. We did not eat there for breakfast - they only had a buffet, more food that we wished to eat. We rented bicycles from the hotel one day. Great fun riding around to the dunes.

Worth a Visit
Only downside was the bedroom. It was large, but one side of the bed was under a sloping roof so not convenient. There was a wardrobe with hanging space, but no drawer space at all, so you had to live out of your suitcase. Lounge was spacious and fine. Dinner was good.

Great facilities, friendly staff, beautiful place
Visiting friends in Schoorl - hotel was just along the road from town centre. Bike hire is available, pool & sauna clean and nice. Hotel was quiet on 2nd floor when we stayed. All staff helpful & friendly. Would definitely stay again.

2/10 Poor

We booked a nice suite with jacuzzi for our wedding night. The room was simple. No dressing gown, no body cream, no handsoap, little sugar, milk, coffee etc. Breakfast was served in the room, but in my opinion this was a 'gasstation breakfast'. Orange juice not fresh but from a pack, spreads in plastic....To be honest there was nothing (room, breakfast) that had anything to do with a 4 star hotel. Very dissapointing if you expect a luxurious wedding night in a 4 star hotel. The room was already paid by friends as a present but when checking out, we had to pay again so now I have to reclaim the double paid money. And finally, the let me pay for parking while we were not even there with a car...
