Space Hotel is a Rip Off joint DO NOT STAY HERE
The Hotel.com web advert for the Hotel is materially incomplete. After you have paid, you get a 1.5 page complex Message imposing Check In by Phone and an App as mandatory. It's illegal to impose mandatory extra conditions after paying. Also, even though the room is paid in full before arrival they add an additional "Reservation Hold" of $150 euro on your Card, and after you leave the say to "contact your bank to cancel it". They Staff are rude and unprofessional DO NOT STAY HERE. The Hotel.com Spt Staff do nothing when advised, very poor Customer Service and unprofessional.

Good value accommodation. Single room with sink was clean and functional. Shared bathroom with shower was regularly checked and cleaned well. I arrived at 16:00 and had no problems checking in.

Hostel in edgy location
This is a hostel in a part of Leipzig that I wouldnt choose to stay in again. The check in time is very limited, 4pm to 7pm, there are no staff evident outside this time. Access to the hostel is through a dark alleyway and a locked gate and rear door to the property outside of these hours. The location is on a very run down street of mainly boarded up shops. The staff were pleasant and the room was clean but as a solo female traveller I would not stay here again.

clean and cheap, but not perfect.
Leipzig is a fantastic town with amazing history and one of the best city center locations in the world. This hotel is located in a not so great section of town. The staff was not great. They over charged me for the room and messed up charges on my credit card. Hotels.com did help me with this to correct the issue. The room itself, while spartan, was very clean and fair for the price. The hotel is about a 25 minute direct walk from the city center. The area of town is not the nicest. But for the price of the room and for the love of Leipzig I would be tempted to stay there again. There is ample busses and trolleys nearby the hotel to take you where you want to go if you don't want to walk. You do need check in between 4-7pm or your out of luck. And you do need to make sure it's very clear how to leave and enter the building outside of those hours. Also, if you have trouble climbing stairs, you should be aware since the rooms maybe several flights of stairs up with no elevator.

A week in Leipzig
My wife and I spent a week in Leipzig over new years. Hostel was well priced. Not much in the neighbourhood, but it was only four tram stops from the city center. Room was spacious and clean though bed was only moderately comfortable and pillow was bad. Bathroom facilities were good and kept very clean. Reception is only open limited hours. Still, it was a good stay for a good price

Basic, cheap room was all I needed
Nice, small clean room with bathroom down the hall, all I needed, easily accessible from the train station by tram, and good value for money. However, note that check-in is ONLY between 4-8pm, if you arrive earlier you can't even store your bags, and if you arrive later you're out of luck!

Eigentlich sehr löbliche Grundidee, dem Verein durch Zimmervermietung zusätzliche Einnahmen zu verschaffen, aber durch sehr strenge Vorgaben (ich habe alle eingehalten), null sonst übliche Hotel- oder Hostelservices und bei kritischen Bewertungen Kommentare des "Vorsitzenden" sehr arg von oben herab gibt es für den gleichen oder günstigeren Preis bessere Alternativen. Die Zwangsabgabe von 3,00 Euro vor Ort war auf hotels.com nicht angegeben. Außerdem gab es nicht das angegebene Kabelfernsehen, sondern Freenet TV, was kein Problem wäre, wenn da die Gebühren für Privatsender gezahlt worden wären, so aber gab es kein RTL, SAT1, PRO7, etc. und die öffentlich-rechtlichen Programme musste man zwischen den vielen gesperrten Kanälen sehr langwierig suchen. Dass ein natürlich nicht vorhandener Kamin als Zimmerausstattung auf hotels.com angepriesen wurde, ist dagegen schon eher wieder lustig.
