It's on flight path, no where to go at night, hardly any lights so a bit weary going out and about. To get anywhere you have to pay for a taxi or bus. Room basic, food ok but never hot. Only alcohol for all inclusive is beer wine ouzo and raki. Everything else you have to pay for..

I enjoyed my vacation at Lyda Club Hotel. The room was so clean. The sheets and towels were changed every day. The food which was buffet style was pretty good. I liked the snack bar where they had barbecue almost every evening. Sometimes they had pasta. Overall, it was good and convenient. The staff is nice and friendly. I recommend it.

2/10 Poor

Don’t usually leave bad reviews when going abroad as we don’t expect a lot when staying at a 3* & are just happy to be away in the sun but I am due to how TERRIBLE the hotel manager is. She should not be representing this hotel as she does not know customer service. On our 1st night our bed broke as there were only 5 slats, after 3x times of this trying to be fixed at 3am & eventually it breaking for a 4th time & a slat flying off & chipping all on the floor, the night-receptionist replaced the slats. The night manager promised a room upgrade the next day. However the next day the hotel manager was rude, patronising & unapologetic, She said she would not move our room & laughed in my girlfriends face & walked away twice mid convo saying it was our fault. The bed slats fell out every night as they were not screwed in. After being told that she would send a cleaner, she did not! So the splinters were great! The food is very boring- my girlfriend got food poisoning on the last day. The air-con stopped 3x even though we paid for the air-con for our entire stay. The AL finishes at 10.30pm with terrible choice of spirits. They advertise they have a swim up pool bar, ignore as it doesn’t get opened. This is the hotels greatest asset & it’s not being used. The entertainment is shocking- Zara try’s but isn’t supplied the tools to do his job. George & Lima are Fantastic! I look forward to the comical denial of the response from the hotel manager.

Not the best but an ok value all inclusive
Pleasant enough stay. The room was right next to reception and near the bar so quite noisy.Very old fashioned and worn out but clean enough.Air con was an extra fee wich I was aware of.The food was ok at first but got very samey quickly.I would avoid the daily chefs specials and go for the roasted meat or fish options.great salad bar though. The drinks on offer the same, fizzy lager, bad wine and syrupy mixers.Buy bottled mixers from the onsite shop is my advice.By the third day I stopped eating and drinking there as I felt a little unwell. the onsite shop was reasonable and a safer choice for drinks and snacks.Pleasant people though and with maybe choosing different things to eat I would have enjoyed it more.

Hotel was value for the money I paid. Never any sundloungers, not enough for the number of guests. Very noisy through the night inside and out of the hotel. But generally OK.

Lovely facilities outside. Very poor food and dri
Some of the hotel is definitely a 3* and other areas aren't. The receptionist is overworked and i saw her dealing with quite a few complaints on various occasions. She was polite and trying to be helpful. The bar staff, food area staff, and entertainment staff, were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were not great. I complained that my mattress was just full of springs and lumps. I slept very little. It stayed the same. The shower doesn't stay on the wall. The rooms were not cleaned much. The food was not good quality. It was pretty much the same every day with little variation. The drinks were very poor; all you get is red/white wine, beer or brandy as part of AI. The soft drinks are watered down syrup. We mostly bought our own drinks elsewhere. We ate out too. It isn't worth it for AI. I was asked if i would go back. I wouldn't.

Worst stay in Greece so far!
I’m usually very easy going and don’t complain over much but I can’t keep my mouth shut over this three night stay. We had no hot water and cockroaches! The worst part was they wouldn’t change our room and the lady at reception was so lax about it all and said they would spray later. Like really?! I’ve been to Crete multiple times and stayed in many different places and have never experienced anything close to this. Also, we couldn’t sleep because of the amount of mosquitoes swarming around and when we woke up we were covered in bites. When we first got to the hotel I thought there may have been a chicken pox outbreak because so many children had red dots all over their faces...nope.. just bugs. Anyhow, I don’t mean to be so pessimistic but we truly had an awful stay. Some of the rooms on the upper floors of the newer looking buildings appeared alright. So maybe if you’re lucky enough to get one of those you may have a decent stay.

We stayed in this hotel last summer with two kids and had an amazing time. We didn't understand the complaints people have in some reviews. As for this price you can't have everything but it was well more than enough. Rooms are spacious and clean, staff are amazing, really helpful and more like friends to you. Bar staff makes yummy coctails. There's games to play during the day organised by lovely party people and disco for kids every evening plus something for older guests too. Restaurant busy but still food on time and always fresh and really tasty everyday some different varieties of fish chicken or meat or veggie meals. Maybe more types of olives would be nice and some option of a spicy dish? and adding an option of a garlic tzatziki but if you ask the kitchen staff they'll help if they can give you what you want. And mainly what we could notice, not that was bothering us much, but what people been saying is the lack of normal bacon rashes for breakfast so if they could change anything it would be that and maybe a few more bus fares to the beach. Hotel has 5 swimming pools and only a few minutes away by the local bus there is a lovely beach called Star Beach with quite a few water slides that cost almost nothing. Beach is about 20min walking distance with kids so quite slow legs. Lovely stay and we're actually planning to come back this year again as for this price you can't find a better deal. Kids can't wait too. Thank you Lyda Hotel for our great holiday!!

Family holiday
I could start this review and nit pick Not going to as we got what we paid for, a relaxing Greek holiday at a friendly hotel Food was great as we are clean eaters and loads of fresh veg and fruit. Drinks were usual local brew and ok to sipp at Gouves was ok I wouldn't go back just for Gouves but Lyds was a pleasant surprise If you want a quiet safe family holiday I would recommend, not party central and you need scar to explore

Family Friendly Hotel
We enjoyed our stay in Lyda Club. It is a good place to be with kids. Food was excellent. The staff is very kind, friendly and very responsive. Kostas at the reception was very helpful and nice person. Service personal at cafeteria was very exceptional in terms of preparing and cleaning tables for us. I would like to mention Kostas and George. In general our kids enjoyed staying in this hotel. I believe I will go there again next year.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious with a good balcony view. The three swimming pools catered for all tastes (quiet, swimming and pool games). Nearby towns, places of interest and activities were easily accessible by public transport or facilitated by hotel staff. Overall a great holiday.

Expect to pay for the extras you might expect
The hotel is very clean, but the food is very similar day on day. Also the 'all inclusive' is very restrictive. Nothing is included between breakfast and 11am, and ice cream is only available at meal times. The bar also stops being all inclusive at 10.30pm. The pools are very good, and cleaned regularly. The sunbeds are a bit tatty and a lot are in need of replacement. The food is not really child friendly, and the selection is catered towards eastern european tastes. The rooms are basic, and the beds very hard. The sheets and towels could have been replaced more often, and you have to pay 7 Euros a day if you want the air conditioning activated. All in all an enjoyable stay, but the all inclusive tag is a bit misleading.

Not pleased
The staff was very nice and the rooms were clean. The food was not good at all. This is a all exclusive resort and one of the main reason why you stay at s all exclusive resort. A lot of people were going across the road to eat out and that is not good. I would not stay in this resort again for this main reason. They didn't have many kids activities either.

Very nice budget All Inclusive hotel.
You get what you pay for, this is a budget All Inclusive hotel, the room we had was basic, just what we expect for Greek hotels, the only downside was the mattress was very hard. The room was large with a sink unit and fridge in the corner, very handy. The room was cleaned every day except sunday, the hotel in general was very clean and tidy and we found all of the staff helpfull and very friendly, especially Dimitri behind the bar in the evenings. The all inclusive bar finished a bit early at 10.30pm but the bar prices were very reasonable compared to other local bars. We were disappointed to find the "pool bar" closed, however the limited number of guests probably did not warrant it opening. We very rarely had a wait of more than a few minutes at the bar. We found the food to be very good, can`t comment on the breakfast as we do not use that, but the lunch and dinner both offered very tasty if slightly limited options, the complaints that we heard were from people that wanted typically british style food, and did not appreciate the greek food provided. The beach / local village is a twenty minute walk, although a minibus is provided 4 times a day @ 10am, 12.30pm, 2pm, & 5.30pm. Note to the owner.. another trip around 7.30 or 8pm would be nice. I usually ignore the animations teams at hotels, but I have to mention "Stas" the animations / DJ / entertainment guy. Within a couple of days we were very friendly with him (very unusual for us) he is a funny guy.

10 days in Gouves
My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel for 10 days. Some reviews we read were negative and we had some hesitations in booking but thought to see for ourselves and glad we did. This is a family run business. The service of the hotel staff was of a high standard. The quality and quantity of the food was excellent. The facilities of the hotel were as described and the proximity to public transport enabled us to see other parts of the island. We will definitlely be returning to this hotel next year.
