Was this one of those prison cell experiences
I have stayed in better hotels, this you can compare to the Bates Hotel or the hotel out of the film the Shining!
The walls were stained the carpet was stained, It was not the best place to stay, the staff were okay but they acted like there were working in a 5 star hotel! Has anyone seen rising damp the tv series well please look it up it had that kind of feel to it.

Good view of Akashi castle
Nice hotel not too far from the Akashi train station. Also across the street from the Akashi castle ruins and nice Akashi park.

The location is ideal and conveniently close to the train station. Akashi Castle which is close by is also nice. There are many nice places to eat as well. The service was good and the receptionists are friendly and helpful! The hotel does look a little old though and seems to be well past its former glory which is a bit sad.

Green Hill Hotel Akashi - great window view!
The Green Hill Hotel Akashi has a spectactular view of Akashi Castle, which was even better at night. It's a short walk from the Akashi train station, and a convenient place to stay if you want to take a day trip to Himeji (like we did). The double room was enormous by Japanese standards, and was clean and very comfortable. The hotel lobby also had a small gift counter, which was the only place in town we were able to find local touristy merchandise.
