Incompetent management overseeing dated property
When we arrived, the receptionist didn't have record of our booking and was incredulous when we showed the confirmation. After 20 mins of ignoring us, they dropped us into a dated suite and told us we'd need to move again the next day.
The next morning we received a message that they were moving us to a cottage down the hill and would compensate with breakfast and a bottle of wine. When we arrived at reception, they changed the message to clarify that we would need to pay extra for breakfast (we declined). Making our way to the cottage, it was run-down and the promised wine was not in residence.
They then charged our card on file without consult. The whole experience gave the impression that they wanted absolutely nothing to do with their "guests", simply hoping that we would leave quickly and quietly. We did.
