hard bed
The food was fantastic. The best I have had at an isolated resort. Home made jams and breeds. The crescents were out of this world. Bed a little hard.

Perfect for our no-frills visit
We used the hotel during our visit to AiR 14 at Payerne, and so we knew most of our time would be spent travelling. We wanted a good value hotel which would allow us to sleep and keep clean, and for this purpose it was excellent.

la clef Des champs
The hotel is in the perfect location for nature lovers. In farm country, nothing else close by, fresh air and walking or biking trails depending on your preference. Breakfast was included which was a mostly self serve affair. Poached eggs and coffee were provided upon request.
A few things to be aware of: there are no elevators so if you are on the third floor (as we were) you will have to take your suitcases up yourself. Also they are serious about time. For instance dinner stops at 10 pm so if you are there at 9:30, too late for dinner. The front desk is not manned all of the time but there is a phone for your convenience.
All in all a very good experience. The woman who doubled for assisting with breakfast and making the front desk was very pleasant and helpful.

La Clef des Champs - hits and misses
A very friendly hotel, way up in the hills above Lake Neuchatel. We stayed around new Year, and did not realize beforehand just how high up it is! We stayed for one night, and the TV system and the wifi were down throughout the hotel all the time. They gave us a discount (free breakfast) in lieu - though we had to ask for it first. Although we had booked cheap deal on the internet, we were charged initially for a top-rate room, which we had not had - not good. In the end all was settled amicably. The overriding impression is of a friendly, but rather disorganized, hotel with lovely views over the lake and countryside.

Great place to stay, up on the top of the mountains
Up a long and windy track which must be a challenge in the winter. Breathtaking views. Hotel is a typical ski lodge, a bit basic but clean and confortable and incredable value for Switzerland. If it wasn't for the cow bells it would be totally silent !
Helpful English speaking staff.

The only problem was its distance to anywhere. But if you enjoy the hills and fresh Swiss air then this s the place. Gorgeous surrounds.

sehr herzlicher service
