Staff is friendly, place is clean but dated as it was built 29 years ago. Food is good and location is convenient to grocery and walkable to downtown. There doesn’t appear to be any rules concerning guests claiming lounge chairs by the pool so most are claimed by 9 am despite no one sitting there for a long time.

I enjoyed my stay here. The beds are comfortable and I was not overwhelmed by the obnoxious smell of sheets and bedding at most hotels in Mexico. I had a late lunch here and the breakfast buffet and 10/10 for both. I loved Bar Tabachines at night. The music was groovy and I got to play pool. The house margaritas are top notch.

We spent 10 night here. The location is fantastic, filled with many Canadians that we enjoyed getting to know. The pool is quiet and so relaxing. It could use a good scrub. The staff was kind and helpful. The rooms are spacious, good AC. Bed is a little too hard for my liking. My only real complaint is the restaurant. Over priced and really not very tasty. People rave about the breakfast, we had a much different experience. My daughter loved the 2 cats who live on the property. All in all we would definitely stay here again.

Only stayed for one night. Very noisy, from people in the pool laughing to the room above, moving chairs, talking, things falling down until 12:00am or more. Call Recepcion, they asked to stop but people didn’t care. Next day before check out I wanted to go to the beach early in the morning (08:00) but safety box didn’t work, call the hotel and answer the maintenance staff enters at 09:00 so they couldn’t do anything. I complain of the service ant they took more than 30 min to resolve it. So I couldn’t go to beach! Had to go. Breakfast was good, more than a basic buffet and restaurant staff was good too.

Smaller hotel. Breakfast is great. Staff are very nice. i had requested a lower floor room around the pool, but did not get one even though there were at least 3 of these rooms vacant for 3 days in a row. Good location, can walk to Santa Cruz and into town. No lunch specials any more and food prices have gone up considerably from 2 years ago.

The staff were great, breakfast was limited in choice, the pool was warm, older hotel, street noise on roadside of property started early and was loud, was stuck in elevator for over 10 minutes & staff wasn’t trained to alarm sound so no-one came to help, happened to another person a few days earlier, owners said it was fine but manager did make an amends to our stay, AC froze & stopped working, had to move rooms & when louvers taken off to see about repair, it was full of mold. My sister almost got shocked when an outlet blew in her room & sparks flew out of it, & she also ended up with a scorpion in her room as staff kept leaving her window opened after cleaning it. I know it was reasonably priced but you get what you pay for. Won’t go back and it was hotter/really humid as not on ocean side so no breeze. Found a better priced & selection breakfast place right around the corner. Huatulco is a gem but I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again.
