I have a lot to say but I think a pro con list will sum it up
Pro
1. Very clean
2. Beautiful view, our room was on the 3rd floor and had a double balcony that was a nice bonus.
3. Convenient to public transport
4. Comfortable rooms
5. Check in was super easy and straight forward
6. The bar was way over priced for the area
7. If you want an authentic Hamburg experience this is the area, it seemed to be away from anything tourist related, and a lot of shops/ bars didn’t speak much English which was cool
Cons
1. Terrible signage, kind of difficult to find the entrance of the actual hotel. Can’t miss the building. Coming off the u-Bahn it’s obvious where the building is but the entrance is tucked away and there’s not signs on the side you walk up to from the u-Bahn.
2. Most everything is closed by 10pm, and despite advertising there was no grab and go (not counting the 3 weird craft sodas for €4)
3. No real amenities at all, if they existed they were not advertised by staff at check in.
4. The building is a public building, and while obviously they have taken steps for security it was very surprising to look out your window and see people walking past it, to the point you can’t open your window or open the curtains at all during the day if you are in the rooms on the 100 floor according to friends who were also staying at this hotel at the same time as us.
5. As of July 2024, the hotel still wasn’t complete and it was obvious but hopefully they will work out some kinks
