Excellent hotel in walking distance to everything downtown Newmarket. Very clean and unique. Parking is difficult but once that was figured out it was excellent

Everything was excellent. The staff was always very friendly, especially Anthony Gallo who was extremely helpful and always attentive to our needs. The place is wonderful, modern, very well decorated and the atmosphere is very pleasant.

The conversion of the old post office into a hotel is incredible. The staff were very considerate. If we are in the area again, will definitely return.

Dog friendly experience
This was our 6th stay at the Postmark since has opened. We obviously enjoy the hotel. It was the first time that we brought our pet Vizsla with us. Definitely a dog friendly hotel. We ended up in an wheelchair access room, which was a little different with much heavier access doors. But it was a very short stay this time so it worked for us. We did notice that the hotel was busier this time so we had to park in the lot beside the building as there were no spots left under the hotel.

A great hotel that continues to improve
This was our 4th booking at the hotel since it opened a few months ago, so obviously we enjoy staying there. We are recognizing significant improvements in their service with each visit. The significant improvement this time was that the lobby location now offers breakfast. We also ate a meal in the roof top restaurant and the food in both locations was excellent. We have been given different rooms on each of our stays in the hotel. The suite we were in this time was the best designed and appointed. It ranked well with some of the better hotels we have stayed at internationally and throughout Canada. The hotel is surrounded by shops in the quaint old town of Newmarket and is definitely the best place to stay if you are visiting the area.

Beautiful place but no breakfast
The Postmark is in a beautifully refurbished heritage building in the old town centre of Newmarket. The only issue I have with the hotel is that it doesn’t offer a breakfast service on week days. While there are a number of restaurants and even coffee shops in the area, none of them seem to be open before 9 am.

Room was nice and as expected. Renovations were great, lobby was beautiful. Had a very odd experience checking in where staff were very confused on our reservation. We’re unable to successfully check us in, it took 45 minutes start to finish, and we never received room keys. Had to be escorted to room and let In with staff master key. Fortunately we were just there 1am-11am to sleep after a wedding and didn’t need in-out access, but was very odd. Staff was friendly and apologetic but we were very tired and just wanted to be able to check in and go to bed. Also was surprised that there were no dead bolts/chains on the bedroom door.

6/10 Good

I want to be clear that there were 2 great staff. One was the lady that delivered our room service and the other was a young girl that took over our check In after the incredibly rude girl sent us walking all over the hotel but it the completely wrong area. No apology, no eye contact and she alone is a reason not to return. Perhaps a French lady? Also, the server in the restaurant, another young girl, knew nothing, was useless and lazy. Anything we asked she didn’t know or said no we don’t yet the people next to us had it. I will give an example of how ridiculous this was..first we asked for two whole lemons (we normally have our own for our morning detox) she said there was one only. Before we left we asked a man (he was amazing) he asked how many would we like they had tons. Second, we asked for jam for toast. She said no We don’t have any. She said we have butter, my husband asked is it not already buttered? She said no we don’t butter the toast. So now it’s cold and she brings Cold butter over. Just poor service for a nice hotel.

2/10 Poor

Our recent stay at Hotel Postmark was disappointing. We had booked for five nights but checked out two nights early due to several issues that made our stay uncomfortable. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and helpful, the restaurant offered delicious food, and the neighborhood was cozy and inviting. However, the negatives overshadowed the positives. The washroom door was incredibly noisy, waking us up whenever it was used at night, making sleep difficult. Upon check-in, we found used toilet paper in the room, which was unhygienic and left a bad impression. The pillows and mattress were very uncomfortable, and overall, the room lacked the comfort needed for a pleasant stay. Additionally, we had issues with the air conditioning and heating system. The controller didn’t work properly, and the heater failed for two nights. Although staff kindly resolved the problem, it was inconvenient. The lack of soundproofing was another major problem. We could hear constant noise from neighboring rooms and upstairs, which was particularly disruptive during a busy period. Parking was also an issue, as the hotel didn’t have enough spots. After the first night, we had to park offsite, which was inconvenient. This was our second time staying here, and while our first visit during a quieter time was decent, this stay was frustrating. We wouldn’t recommend this hotel during peak times unless major improvements are made.

4/10 Fair

I liked the room but found it way overpriced for what is being offered. Here are the reasons for the 2 star review. Room was nicely appointed but had no day curtain so for privacy that meant closing the big cumbersome to open block curtain. There was lots of noise from inside of hotel coming from the access doors to the corridor beside the room which ruined the stay. Got awaken almost every hour due to this. The couch and sitting area faces away from the and are on same wall as the TV so dont expect to see the TV sitting unless your head turns like an owl. There was a table in the middle of the L shape couch for putting a laptop on but no electrical outlet anywhere near so i had to move the table and chair under the TV to have access to an outlet, not the best setup. There was no luggage rack in the room or iron and no provisions to place your luggage on anything except the floor. Lighting in the bathroom is really lacking and dark, no makeup or shaving mirror and no soap shelf in the shower. The bathroom also lacked a tissue box for some reason and only had one small hook for towels so if you are 2 one is going on the floor. To those that are scent sensitive beware that the hotel uses automatic scent sprayers, my allergies kicked in on the first night due to this and with an overwhelming spray scent that engulfed the room at one point. Also found out, the day of, that none of that their 2 restaurants were opened or room service available on thanksgiving morning making for

The hotel was nice, however, the heating systems didn’t work very well and the assessable rooms are larger but annoying as the bathroom door doesn’t stay open. The gym wasn’t bad but the equipment tricky to use.
