Fraud operation.
The Hotel is a scam operation. On arrival at the hotel, the person at the counter informed that they do not make online bookings and refused to honour the booking made on Hotels.com. Alternative arrangements had to be made at another hotel very late in the evening.
The Modus is simple; most travellers will not take the pains to lodge a complaint to Hotels.com and pursue the cumbersome process of getting a refund. If the traveller leaves it halfway, the Hotel pockets the money.
In my case, after getting in touch with Hotels.com online and over the phone over two days, a refund was agreed to. The Hotel also agreed that they did not honour the booking made on Hotels.com.
Hotel.com should be more careful in checking what type of hotels they put on their website.
Clearly, Hotel Ratan Palace is a fraud operation bordering on cyber scamming.
Do not book here.
