Eyal was very good at giving us all the information required for our stay . The room was spotless and modern. The location is spot on for seeing the sights as it was central to most of them. Only negative was that the outside gate was left open a lot and on a few occasions we encountered people urinating on the stairs .

Perfect stay in central Budapest
We had a lovely stay here. The location was perfect and we felt really safe. The room was very modern and clean. When we were here it was 38 degrees so the air con was an absolute blessing . Highly recommend 😀

Misleading and dirty sheets!
After several years of travelling, here goes my first hotel review… I booked the “Deluxe Room” with “separate room” - the image seemed to indicate there was a separate part to the room. However, the room was far from deluxe and the operator did his best to make out the images I saw were not linked to the room - it took a phone recording to prove that his response was untrue. My biggest disappointment was the cleanliness of the room - particularly dirty with unclean sheets - I am almost convinced the wash was skipped (multiple hairs and bits of debris that would surely not be resting on freshly cleaned sheets). I informed the operator of my concerns though it fell on deaf ears - I was offered a refund of €20 with a note asking that this would be on the basis I didn’t leave a review - they can keep the €20.

4 star property? You must be joking! I wouldn’t book this property again. The pictures are deceiving, and as much as the rooms look clean with newly refurbished bathrooms, the beds are creaky and uncomfortable, the access to the rooms are a nightmare and don’t bother trying to open the windows. We had 2 rooms and alarm bells should have rung when we were unable to get into both rooms. The only way to access the rooms is through an app, and that didn’t work. After finally contacting someone through WhatsApp, we went through a laborious process of “pull the handle down to open the door” and sending us basic instructions like we don’t know how to use a door handle, we landed up having to use key cards which we stored in separate safes. Great, 1 room door opened, and the 2nd room, that key card was faulty. Another 25 min of debugging why the key card wasn’t working, at which point we were given the master card (also stored in a safe mind you) to access the room. So into the room, open the windows and you see a staircase. Not a view as advertised, but people walking past who could see straight into your room with the curtains opened. Landed up with closed curtains all trip. Tried to lock the door, there was no inside lock on the door. We found this out the hard way when the cleaner walked into the room while we were sitting on the bed. The reason we have an internal lock is safety and privacy. Especially when anyone with the code has access to the master key.

Nice space, but is something goes wrong, it's a pain to get it rectified. No one is on site, everything was dealt through WhatsApp chat. We stayed in the family suite located on the 7th floor of the building (main reception is on the 2nd floor). Two issues came up during our stay. 1) access to the room is through an app that continuously failed on us. After a long day of sightseeing we were subjected to an Amazing Race type scavenger hunt, running up and down floors several times, opening various lock boxes (wrong lock box codes were continuously given) in order for us to get a physical key card to open our room (it took us about an hour). During this time the property manager refused to answer our phone calls, but chose to communicate through chat. 2) Room was not serviced even though we put out a sign to say to. Came back to our room after walking in hot weather all day, with no clean towels available, and was told by management they would change our towels the next day. After numerous back-and-forth chats with the property manager they agreed to allow us into an empty cleaned room to take the towels from there (we got 2 towels.. we were a party of 3...). Frustrating part is you're dealing with multiple property managers so you constantly have to give your reservation number and repeat your issue. Again, if nothing goes wrong, it's fine. But best of luck if something does - it's a horrible and frustrating experience. Would not recommend staying here.

Convenient location, steps to metro. Building has a lot of character. Room is spacious and clean with modern decor, lots of storage space. I was sent a couple of videos on how to access since I arrived after hours, which were generally helpful. Although I had a bit of trouble initially finding where the sensor is for the key fob for the outside gate (fob is chained to a key lockbox hung on the gate). The instructions for accessing room was a bit confusing too, was not obvious to me at the beginning that I am supposed to use mobile app, and I had trouble accessing room using the app. But host was easily reached so he provided further instructions on accessing a keycard stored within another key lockbox just inside the common area of the apartments. Would have been better if the provided videos were more clear on these. On one night someone else next door arrived past 1am and they were also having trouble accessing one of their rooms using the mobile app, while they had no trouble accessing another room. Saw them the next morning and they said they never managed to get in to that 1 room so not sure what happened.

2/10 Poor

Horrible to say the least. No staff on site to help us out. Very poor communication because of that, we cannot get the key into our room on the first day for hrs. Didn’t get actual key for room til 2d day. Explanation: Owner demanded we install Whatsapp on our phone before we could get in, but we refused because the app is insecure. Owner also failed to provide phone number for questions, and though Expedia later gave us his number, when we did get hold of owner he refused to help us get into the apartment unless we first installed whatsapp on our phone. For hours we tried to find a way in. Finally, an attendant at the site helped us get in using a master swipe card. This is a very complex place to get into, requiring a fob, two codes, and a swipe card, so without the owners help, it’s a miracle we got in. Finally the second day we got everything we needed, but considered terminating our stay. The communication was so terrible we knew if we needed anything, any help, the owner would not help us. If WhatsApp was a condition of rental, this should have been stated up front. You can’t get all the rental and then start imposing conditions on your tenants.

Fab location but a bit noisy.
Beautiful apartment. Modern and clean. Good instructions about how to check in. There were tea and coffee but nothing was replenished despite us leaving the cleaning sign up. Excellent communication from host including recommendations for bars, restaurants and attractions. Only downside was the noise from outside. Busy traffic and sirens going off all night. Location was great for us, minutes from the ruin bar and ample restaurants nearby.

Attractive, but loud
Despite my review, the room is attractive and centrally-located. But I had two main issues - the apartment is right on a main street and the windows do not block out the sound. You can hear the trams, police sirens and revelers outside throughout the night. The other issue was that I was sent a redacted or incomplete message by email the morning before I arrived, but never received instructions on how to enter. Once I arrived there were 10 steps to get into the apartment and I had to wait 20 minutes to be sent the instructions after I called the owner. A smaller issue - they should install blackout drapes to prevent the light from coming in. If you are ok with loud noises when you sleep then the apartment could be a good deal.
