I don't usually write reviews like this, but I feel it's important to provide honest feedback.
One key point to note is that we stayed in what was essentially a basement suite, which should be clearly mentioned in the listing.
Positives:
- Spacious: Our suite was incredibly roomy, featuring two bedrooms, a dedicated bathroom, and a small dining area.
- The Owner: Heather was incredibly sweet and always quick to answer all our questions.
- Location: About a 10-minute drive to the downtown area with easy access to ride-sharing.
- Price: Much more affordable than hotels in the area.
- Toiletries: Provided disposable makeup wipes and a makeup remover towel.
Negatives:
- Foul-Smelling Water: My biggest issue was the foul-smelling hot water in the sink and shower. The hotter it got, the more it intensely smelled of rotten eggs. I had read another review with similar issues but it seemed like it was a one-off, so it may be a seasonal thing? I texted Heather, and she assured me that the water had been tested recently and was safe.
- Dead Bug: Upon arrival, we found a dead bug in the bathroom (photo attached).
- Basement Smell: Wishing I had been told this was a basement suite, the natural mustiness you sometimes get with spaces like these started to bother me as I have allergy problems. There was a small air purifier but it wasn't enough to take care of such a big area.
- A Little Dusty: While the area was generally clean, we did notice some dust buildup in crevices.
