Charming Inn
This is a very quaint and unique Inn worth visiting. Very charming and the staff was great. We enjoyed the quieter location just over the bridge from the main tourist area. Breakfast was a little pricey but was worth the experience. The food was delicious and the presentation was excellent. My only complaint was that the bathroom in our suite was very dated and the old shower head sprayed everywhere.

What an amazing hotel! We were greeted by a manager who was very lively and welcoming and gave us lots of good suggestions as to what to see in town the next day. We followed her suggestions and had a wonderful tour of Hburg from the tourist info office, which was an easy walk across the bridge from the hotel. Loved the view of the castle up on the hill as we walked into town, although you don't see it directly from the hotel. The breakfast was amazing. Worth every penny. I've never had so many little delights, so artfully presented, so carefully prepared and delicious. I felt so pampered and special! The manager was so kind to bring us a fan to our room, and to personally return my husbands glasses to the room after he left them downstairs when he went to have a whiskey out on the terrace. Delightful management, wonderful stay! Try them, you'll love your time there!

Beautiful hotel and excellent customer service. Walkable to the old town, which I imagine is the reason you're going to Heidelberg! Nice history of the hotel and area by check-in staff!

Great location in a historic building
We made a very late minute booking at Die Hirschgasse and they were very accomodating with a canape and drink on arrival as well as a small bottle of wine and chocolates left for a night snack. We loved the story and history of the building and stayed in the Peking Room. The rooms were decorated by Laura Ashley and we enjoyed the eclectic style, furniture and items in the room. The hotel is a convenient walk into the old town, was easy to get to by car and had easy parking in the courtyard. We unfortunately weren't staying on a night the restaurant was open but did have their huge breakfast, including chia pudding, lemon custard, great homemade yoghurt, rolls, homemade jam, local honey, omelette, poached eggs, meats, cheeses and small sweets.

Good value for money
Nice hotel, great location, friendly staff, awesome breakfast, convenient location across the river from all the action, yet easy to walk to the main attractions. Only thing that would have been nice is a kettle in the room to have a cup of tea in the evening.

Loved the hotel and staff. Built in 1472. Mark Twain wrote about his experience there in book about his travels to Heidelberg. Bought a copy of the book at hotel. Will stay there again.

Beautiful old building, with a great story
Beautiful! Lovely garden, great food, very friendly staff. Our 3 day stay was wonderful! A handy-man might be needed to clean or paint scuff marks on walls, to check plumbing drips, shampoo the carpet. However, those were very minor things, which did not overcome the delicious food, glorious staff and beautiful plants growing on the front of the building. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this small, lovely hotel!

The staff of this hotel is the very best
The staff of this hotel went over the top to assist us in every way when we found ourselves sick and in needs of lots of help with procuring doctors, new reservations, etc. They did so without complaint and in good humor through it all. The hotel is charming, historically interesting and Ina marvelous setting. The manager is happy to take the time to tell you about the history of the place in detail and is extremely knowledgeable. The hotel is great, but the staff takes it to superb.

Charming
We arrived on a Friday and did not think to book the dinning room at the hotel in advance. They were totally booked but very kindly made reservations at another resturant in town. We had wine in the garden whuch was lovely and breakfast although very pricey was delicious. We were not impressed with the room accomodations but the staff are very helpful and it has a charming ambiance.

Quiet Luxury hotel with great charm
Great little inn within easy walking distance to old town. The house has a lot of history as an Inn, going back to the 1400's. Wonderful suite with antique furniture.

Charming hotel and quiet location
This hotel is a little gem. We stayed for two nights this summer and wished we could have stayed for longer. The rooms were quiet, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. All of them spoke perfect English. The breakfasts were plentiful and a gastronomic delight. The hotel is located in a quiet location and within walking distance of the old town. Easy parking was a benefit for us because we were touring around Germany. We would definitely stay here again.
