I have no complaints with anything but the room I took was very small. Also the reception area was a 2 flight walk up with no elevator. The hosts were very kind and the breakfast was ample.

Other than slight misunderstanding about shuttle pickup from train station (probably due to language barrier), owners & staff were friendly & courteous.

This hotel is excellent value for money, situated in the town centre with most sights within easy walking distance. Despite its location it is quiet and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious, varied and even included home made cake! I really recommend it.

Hotel Verdi is a gem of a hotel in a fantastically central position in Palermo. Close to many bars and restaurants and a short walk to the bus stop for the bus to the airport. The rooms and whole hotel are superbly clean and well maintained, and although not luxurious, very comfortable. What really sets is apart though is the warm welcome we received. Nothing was too much trouble for the Signora, she was friendly and helpful and bakes the most wonderful cakes to be eaten fresh from the oven for breakfast. She gave us advice on the best routes to take to take in the sights and we felt very looked after. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to those wanting a convenient, friendly, small hotel.

6/10 Good

I'll start with the positive -- the location is terrific; the breakfast was excellent, much better than most; the place was clean. However . . . you first of all should know there are 38 VERY steep stairs with four landings to get up to the 3rd floor where the hotel is. If you heavy luggage, it's a back breaker. No elevator. The room I had was more like a closet -- cramped with nothing more than a bed (which was hard and squeaky), an old, uncomfortable chair, and a tiny bedside table. That's it. The bathroom was fine. There were exactly 4 hangers in the closet, which was a free-standing wardrobe so close to the bed, that you could not use the two drawers in the bottom of it as they wouldn't open. The internet was OK, but not great. It's rated a two star hotel, and it definitely is that; not even a fraction of a star more.

Right in the heart of Palermo
Don't be fooled by 2 star rating, this hotel is way better than a 3 star hotel in other cities where I stayed in the past. The location is great, right in the center. The staff is very nice and helpful, rooms are big enough and clean. Equipped with AC and wifi. If you are looking for a quiet and zen location, this might not be it/Palermo might not be for you at all. However, I am usually a light sleeper but had no trouble falling asleep as the windows blocked all the noise.

Clean, Convinence and Friendly
I stayed for three nights at Verdi and enjoyed my stay. The staff were very friendly. Even though they just spoke Italian, they tried their very best to gave me useful travel tips and information in a passionate way. The lady even taught me simple Italian for greetings. The location was good. It was located at a safe neighborhood and was just 15 mins walk to the train station. Most major attractions were also within walking distance. An airport shuttle to the hotel could be arranged for €50 with prior arrangement. If you are looking for a clean, convenience and friendly place to stay, this is a good choice.

6/10 Good

The location is close to the historic part of town and the opera house. The room was clean and quite spacious. The only thing I have to complain about is the hotel manager and hotels.com. We booked three rooms for two nights each and were charged for FIVE rooms, two nights each. When I complained to the hotel manager about this he turned out to be incredibly obnoxious, loud, and stubborn. We concluded it was a mistake made by hotels.com. I have spent hours arguing with the hotel manager and on the phone with hotels.com and still haven't got my money back.

4/10 Fair

Noisy, but well located.
Our room was over a very noisy main street. Bring earplugs. There are two long flights of stairs to the hotel and no lift. Otherwise a cheap, basic hotel in a good location for exploring the mayhem and fun that is Palermo.

Udemærket hotel, men meget larm.
Hotellet er som sådan fint. Venligt personale.
