Inotawa Lodge was without a doubt the highlight of our trip to Peru and proved to be an amazing and truly authentic Amazon experience. My partner and I spent four days and three nights at the lodge and ended up having the whole place to ourselves, shared only with our guide, the chefs and boat driver. The whole experience exploring the jungle is like nothing else: we went piranha fishing; spotted capybaras, tortoises and plenty of birds on the many boat rides up the river; visited the macaw clay lick; spotted giant otters and caiman while canoeing; and stumbled across tarantulas, snakes, scorpions and plenty of monkeys on several walks into the jungle, including a few at night. L The food served at the lodge was outstanding, with different options served for each breakfast, lunch and dinner across the few days. Certainly an impressive variety of food considering the place has no electricity and all food comes in on the boat. The food itself was also a highlight of our trip in both its quality and quantity. The bungalows were a special place to stay too, where we could return from the activities to rest and lie in bed watching monkeys swing through the trees just meters away from us. Also hot water showers were a bonus though not too necessary in the heat! All in all, considering the nightly rate of the lodge includes full board food and all activities in the day it was outstanding value and felt even more special with it being a private experience. Thank you Bryan & Inotawa!
